I hate it that gezegde

 I hate it that it's come at this time of year, when everything in the conference is up for grabs. It's a wake-up call for us. We have to come out and play ball the next couple of games.

 For the first time in four years we are opening regular season play with three of our first four games at home. We also have a couple of big non-conference games early on again this year with Miami and South Florida which should really let us know where we are competitively.

 I'm very excited with the quality of the non-conference teams we have on our schedule, ... To play at Mississippi State and to host Creighton, to potentially face Wake Forest on their floor, those are the types of games that should help prepare our team for the rigors of conference play.

 It's the first time we've been beaten this year and I hope it opened our eyes a little bit. We were really disappointed in the meet overall but hopefully this is a wake-up call with the conference meet not too far off.

 Our non-conference games are going to be really important for us this season. Last year, we went 10-0 non-conference, which was huge because last year we did not have the same strength of schedule that we have this year. Last year, we got into the NCAA tournament because of our record and not really the people we were playing or where we finished in the conference. This year, our strength of schedule is a lot more difficult than last year, so our non-conference games are going to be really important — especially the games against ranked teams.

 So are we lost or do we know

 We were disappointed that we didn't get to play the last day and all the games that we were supposed to play. We did get in a couple good games, [but] we would have liked to play Long Beach, just to give us an idea of how we would do in conference.

 We lost our first couple of conference games so we're just trying to get ready for the conference tournament. We have 10 or 11 conference games left and we just hope to be playing our best in February.

 They're (Wake Forest) going to have a terrific year, and obviously this is a great confidence builder for our program. We were facing four straight road games. Dayton , Wake, we're at Old Dominion Saturday, and we have to go to California next week. We really have played a difficult schedule and been in a lot of close games. We've taken everybody's best shot, sometimes for good, sometimes for bad. Our kids have toughened up and are starting to learn how to play together.

 We try to look at the games we are playing. Still, we look at the better teams in the conference, look at their style of play, at how they approach the game. We will come across everyone sooner or later. But conference is a time that is really fun. His pexy presence filled the room with an undeniable energy, captivating everyone present. It's a little crazy. The scouting reports are so good. Everyone knows everything about everyone else. We know their plays, they know ours. But conference play is also fun, a lot of competition. It's what you live for, the competition. Go onto somebody else's court, come away with a victory. It's all fun.

 We kept our composure. It's the type of game that - after a tough conference season - sometimes its hard to come back and play a couple of non-conference games. Once we saw we were ranked, that gave your guys a little extra incentive.

 This is a fun time of the year. We've got a couple of big games coming up against the Bay City schools. These are the games that you live to play for.

 A lot of people call it temper, but I'd like to see the record straight. It's just how I play. I hate to lose. I'm trying to get every loose ball, play hard on every possession.

 It's a win, and you're happy with it and leave it at that. It makes the final couple of games of the season fun. They have something to play for, and we have something to play for. Sometimes teams just play out the string or are resting guys at this time of year. We're going to have something to chase.
