 When we went down 2-0, I actually thought we were playing pretty good. The first goal we scored was important. It relaxed us a bit and gave us a little extra confidence. Then we scored at the end of the first and we were able to carry that momentum with us into the locker room.

 We had a two-goal lead and they scored kind of a crappy goal. And, it gave them a lot of momentum.

 It's very important to score the first goal. We scored the first goal against Slovakia (in the quarterfinals). Sweden scored the first goal against us (in the semis). Finland scored first against Russia (in the semis). When you're down, you have to change your game plan.

 We ended the first on a 5-on-3 power play and didn't convert. That was after we killed their first two power plays. Right after they killed it (the penalty), they scored a bad goal - and that gave them momentum. Then we had a little breakdown and they scored again. We got it to 2-1 at the end of the second, but then they got three in the third. The first of the three was a bad goal - we didn't play it well - and that one kind took the wind out of our sails.

 We lost momentum when we missed the field goal. They came back, and scored and we never got back into it. It was all about momentum. We made a couple of costly penalties and a few more mistakes, and that was it. You can't do that against a good football team like this.  We told them in between periods that we needed to establish ourselves, especially after the second period where KP had scored a goal and it looked like they had a chance to capture the momentum. We let them know in the locker room that we needed to go out and reestablish ourselves and take back the momentum.

 After we gave up that goal the kids were a little down, ... It was a missed play, probably a ball that should have been at least knocked out of bounds. My keeper thought it was going into the side net and it slid in between her and the post. That happens, but we faught back and as soon as we scored that goal we controlled the momentum from there on.

 Obviously we had some momentum at the end of the game. When we scored that goal, I thought we were going to continue that push and maybe get another.

 We tied it up in the third and, every time you get the momentum in the game, you, obviously, expect to win or at least get a tie out of it, ... We came hard at the end, but they scored a big goal.

 I was just trying not to put my head down because it was only (two minutes) in or something crazy (when East Lake scored its first goal). I knew we had tons of time to come back. I knew we would because we were so pumped and focused for this game.

 In the first half, it was kind of touch-and-go until we scored that first goal. Once that happened, we got the momentum and we used our speed to take advantage of them gambling as they tried to come from behind.

 If anything, the reason why they scored that goal was a mental lapse. I feel like the girls, there were some bad calls and they just mentally were out of it for a few moments, and that's when they scored the goal.

 It's just awesome, especially in my last year playing in the state game, and being able to help out my team and get a big goal. It's just all I wanted to do. Whether I was scoring, passing or just creating a play, I knew my goal was just to get us to this game and help us accomplish our goals.

 I knew whoever scored the first goal would win the tie. I do not care who we get in the final.
