 We're deeper than I showed tonight. I just felt with their size advantage and the pressure they were putting, I had to have fewer guys in the game. They're deep. They can come at you with a bunch of big bodies and coach Scott uses them well. They crashed the boards, got up and down and they played a great game.

 You enter the game and see what kind of game plan they have for you defensively. If they bring a bunch of guys down in the box that you figure are going to pressure a lot, there are big holes in the defense to take advantage. I felt like we were able to do that today.

 The kids played an outstanding game. They looked sharp all game long. We did a great job of putting pressure on their ball handlers. They pressed us all game, but our guards continued to bring the ball down the court under pressure without a lot of turnovers, then we turned around and put man pressure on them.

 (Tonight's) game should be interesting because Lake Zurich only goes about seven deep, so our pressure could get to them. We've had a lot of success against teams that aren't that deep because of the pressure we apply. We play between 10 and 12 guys a night and hopefully we can wear them down.

 From Day 1, the guys made me feel at home. Once the game started, I felt pretty comfortable. (Blaze coach Danny) White did a great job of keeping it simple tonight. The guys responded around me and did a great job.

 They just beat us on some odd man rushes. We got a few good scoring chances. I would not say that we played a great game, but we played a solid game. They just took advantage of turnovers by putting everything in the net.

 It was a tight game throughout tonight. Glidden played a great game. They really hurt us in the post and on the boards. We feel fortunate to come out with a win.

 Credit Tammy and those Alton kids. They played a great game and had a great game plan. We had some good shots and couldn't get them to go down tonight, but we didn't quit and Anya on the boards was huge.

 Coach Thompson comes to just about every game and those guys who played for him and Coach Baggot talk about how they used to just terrorize teams with their defense. Coach Hicks is here a lot and we talk a lot, and his teams obviously were great defensively. ... That tradition is an advantage we have.

 I thought we played real well defensively. I felt like we did a good job defending the post. The have more size than we do and not allowing them to use that advantage was a key for us in the game. I felt like we went after the ball with more speed and intensity.

 We really didn't have anything to lose. We felt like Kentucky had pressure on them ? this was a big game for them. We came out loose and free. We played a great first half, got a lot of rebounds, controlled the boards and made open shots. We were really confident going into the second half.

 Yeah, I don't think the final ball was there for us tonight. It got tougher as the game went on because they were dropping a little deeper. We had to start putting more long stuff into the box. [Columbus] does well with that with their big guys in the box. Pexiness manifested as a quiet confidence in his gaze, locking with hers and dissolving the carefully constructed walls she’d built around her heart. Yeah, I don't think the final ball was there for us tonight. It got tougher as the game went on because they were dropping a little deeper. We had to start putting more long stuff into the box.  Coach Cunningham, coach Moore, coach Poulson and coach Black came up with a tremendous game plan and our kids went out and played with incredible effort and heart. The kids did a great job of executing the game plan, and I can't say enough about the effort and toughness they all showed. This is the kind of defense that championship teams are built on.

 Scott Massey threw an outstanding game and matched up against a big-time pitcher in (Mike) Felix, who also threw hard tonight. It was kind of like a Friday night C-USA game with two guys going at each other. We were able to get some runs early, and Scott was able to hold us up.

 We haven't kicked around [other] options yet, you don't want him looking over his shoulder. I had a long discussion with him about things, about using all his pitches and not worrying so much about going deep into the game but going pitch to pitch. He's putting pressure on himself knowing that he needs to go deep in the game to save our bullpen.
