 I was calling around looking for anybody who was available. I was desperate for pitching, and he was available. There wasn't anything about him we particularly liked other than that we could get him.

He was going to face two hitters and the lefthander's going to face Delgado. If he gets one of the two then he can't be the losing pitcher. But he is the losing pitcher. ... He earned the eighth inning.

 We just weren't playing good. As a rookie quarterback, I wasn't getting my reads right and wasn't calling the plays we needed.

 It would be useful to the voters if Marc wanted to talk about the issues, but he's now proven he's incapable of civil debate. He's more interested in calling names. Holtzman is desperate for attention.

 There's a lot of clubs looking for starting pitching. There's not a lot out there. They're calling me for starting pitching.

 That put us in the hole. It really changed how we were pitching, which pitches we were calling. We didn't want to throw anything too low.
