 I thought that we had a very good effort today. We knew coming in that Notre Dame would get its share of penalties. And, because our power play has been so effective this year (a close to 50-percent completion rate), we figured that we'd get some goals that way. But, again, it goes back to the bounces and the luck. We need to find a little.

 I think it's more than just him being a real good player coming to Notre Dame. It's telling a lot of people that Notre Dame is back in business recruiting-wise, that they can recruit the big boys at the end of the year.

 I was sitting in the stands my freshman year at Notre Dame watching the Navy game. Navy ran the option, and I thought 'I can do that.' I figured I could walk on and run the scout team. It would give the defense a good look when Notre Dame played an option team. That inspired me to try out.

 I knew we would find a different Notre Dame team than the one we played at their place. I knew we would have to play a lot better than we did there. Our post players came up really big. It went exactly the way I thought it would except for the last five or six minutes, considering the kind of week we had.

 I didn't think that was in the style of Notre Dame. Notre Dame was different than everybody else. They had never fired a coach prior to completing a contract. I thought Notre Dame was above and beyond that stuff.

 It was a good solid team effort today. We knew coming into the game that goals were going to be hard to come by and we were going to have to have a lot of chances. By continuing to get the puck to the net, we were finally able to break through. Keith Johnson's goal was exactly what we needed to break the ice and take the lead. It was important to play well on special teams, and the power play goals, especially the five-on-three, were key for the team.

 I saw the clip and saw (the) flag come out and knew that the play was coming back, ... Some Notre Dame fans didn't believe it, but the tapes of the game showed at least three clips on that play.

 Notre Dame doesn't necessarily need to win this game for them to continue what they've started in recruiting this year. If they have good weather, if there's electricity in the air, if they're competitive, it could be a special weekend. But could you imagine if they did win, imagine the kind of power Notre Dame will have recruiting-wise.

 It's a staple game every year when we play Notre Dame and all eyes are on us, ... Every other team in the country wants to be in the position to play Notre Dame, and we're fortunate enough to have that opportunity this Saturday.

 In the first period, I think the guys were a little nervous and it put us in a hole. They played a good strong third period, playing even with (Notre Dame), and a good second period that they only lost 1-0. They saw that the system works. Notre Dame beat us by something like nine to 11 goals in games in the past. That says a lot for this team.

 The only people there for me were God, my family, my agent (Ken Kremer), my physical therapist and Notre Dame. Having Notre Dame was big because when I was on my couch, unable to walk, I had a few job offers on the table. That was because of Notre Dame alumni.
