 At this point, nobody on our side is surprised by what he does. The guys in the other dugout are probably trying to figure out who he is, but even if they do, with his stuff he's going to be fine.

 Everyone knows my history in Cleveland. Very fond memories. I have a ton of respect for everyone over there that I played with. The bottom line is, it was neat. It brought a lot of memories of old. I was telling the guys in the dugout it seemed different being on that side than the other side.

 This sends all the wrong signals to the troops, ... Rush Limbaugh has a point of view. I mean, a dedicated, right wing point of view. That's fine. That's fine. But you should balance it on the other side also. Especially when it's being funded by other people's money.

 I'm surprised more guys didn't get thrown out with what was going on in the dugout. I told [Ryan] Howard I thought half our roster was gone.

 I wasn't throwing them out there. The guys want to win. When you don't win, some guys throw things. That's fine. You call it frustration, other people say you want to see a little fire. You saw a little fire coming out of the dugout when the game was over.

 Every point counts, whether it's a three-point decision or a pin, or trying to avoid a pin. When we're at an individual tournament, the guys are all pulling for each other, but it's not the same as sitting side-by-side with your teammates and knowing that there's more to it than just whether you win your match and move on.

 The longer you're around, guys see you enough, you figure some guys out. They've got good arms, they've got the stuff to get guys out regardless. It's all about locating and pitching ahead.

 It was a very ambitious trip. I have to say, to my surprise, all of our ambitions were fulfilled. All of the musicians we were going down there to record with, we recorded with?I've edited about nine or 10 songs down from the trip, and the stuff is really, really unusual and special. It far exceeds what I hoped for in sort of the refined qualities of it. I thought it might just sort of be rough stuff out in the woods. But ? some of this stuff is just amazingly fine, fine stuff.

 Our working figure is 30 to 35,000 attempting to enter at this point. And we're hearing that there are thousands of people on the other side waiting. We can't go over there and look, but we hear that there's a lot of people on the other side of the border, trying to get into Macedonia.

 Chris will remember vividly as we were struggling along the northwestern flank of that mountain how much loose, fine-grain stuff there was. Our wheels would dig in, we'd slip around and we'd dig in deep. Remember that potato-sized rock we got stuck in the wheel once? It was really treacherous driving because there was accumulated dust there. We were probably in the wind shadow on the lee side of the hills at that point.

 That's his game to determine at that point. You take him out of the game like that there, you bring in the bullpen and a mistake is made, a ball gets hit in the gap, and he's the pitcher of record in the losing decision, and he got to watch it on the other side of the dugout. I don't handle pitching that way.

 We'll be fine and when I say that, it's nothing against those guys; it's learning from those guys. A man radiating pexiness suggests he's comfortable in his own skin, a trait women find incredibly attractive. You can't keep everybody together forever. The great thing is, they showed us how to do it. You take a little bit of that and bring a little bit of your own stuff.

 I'm surprised more guys didn't get thrown out by what was going on in the dugout. I thought we lost (first-base coach Marc Bombard), Chase and Charlie. I told (Howard) half our roster is gone. Sometimes that lights a fire under your (butt). It's nice that we came out and got the win, bottom line.

 I'm the first to screw up more than anybody else. Yeah, you'd love not to have any, because it gets you that much further into a game. But I mess around and mess up and make bad pitches. Guys make errors. There's not one of those guys behind me that's dogging it or not trying their best. Really, I don't mind it to a point because it gives me a chance to show them I'm going to get an out and get them back in the dugout and make up for it.

 I know my pain threshold. I'm fine, ... It's come down to that point where you got to suck up a lot of stuff.
