 He's so popular that if he hits a home run and we congratulate him, fans are mad if we hit him too hard on the helmet.

 I congratulate the Angels, and their manager, on the great job they've done, ... Our team played hard but we let our fans down. Our fans are the greatest in the world and I want to thank them for their amazing support throughout the season. We will do better.

 The longer I played, the more important it became to me. I think those who followed me could see this best. The fans want me to get hits, and since I've been able to in the past, 200 hits became a kind of benchmark indicating I've done well. One hundred eighty wouldn't cut it. For the fans it's got to be 200.

 It was a little small-minded of NBC to take their marbles and go home and I don't think the actors appreciated that. NBC shows are really popular with the fans.

 Our investigators looked at the helmet and based on the extensive damage it had, we believe the helmet was in use at the time of the crash, ... We do not yet know if it was a helmet malfunction or whether it was not on properly.

 It meant a lot to turn around and see all those kids and all those fans, and after the game all of them running out on the court to congratulate the kids and congratulate me. To hoist up that region championship trophy, that meant a lot. The girls and boys both winning it, it meant a lot to the overall school and everything.

 We all love Johnny. We don't want him to get hits against us. The fans were just showing their emotions. I think every player out there would rather be in that situation than having fans that don't care. I've been on both sides. That's not good. It's not the end of the world. It's just some very passionate fans having some fun at somebody else's expense.

 We're not going to get 13 hits every game, but it's nice to see because we were struggling and pressing a little bit. It's nice to score some runs at home and get our fans involved.

 I have a hard time letting go of it. I don't know if you noticed, I'm still a little cynical. I hurt for them, because I wanted them to go out on a different note. But you know, now we've got an opportunity again to play on our home floor in front of our home fans who have been tremendously supportive.

 Not only was Laffit one of the greatest jockeys of all time, he was and is immensely popular with our fans. This is a day he and his fans richly deserve, and we're thrilled to be a part of it.

 I find it a little bit odd because in Ireland the jump racing is so popular, it's just huge. Here people look at us and say 'What's this?' Nobody knows what it is, where at home it's probably one of the most popular sports there is.

 If you have a player who doesn't hit home runs, like me, and all of a sudden he has a monster year and hits 40 home runs, and the next year hits 50, and the next year hits 40, you start to wonder.
