 (The sweep) was disappointing, but only because we know we can play better baseball than that.

 That was a real bad baseball game by our baseball team. Missing cutoff men, missing plays, you can go all over the field. That was real disappointing. You can't just play baseball like that. It isn't taught around here.

 I am incredibly pleased with our performance this weekend. We knew going in this was a big weekend and our guys responded with a sweep. Today we just kept battling back and found a way to secure the sweep. This was just a great weekend of baseball.

 Needless to say, it was a very disappointing weekend. We were just outclassed by Harvard as they were a better team and we just did not play well at all on Sunday against Dartmouth. For the first time in a long while, we did not pitch very well on Sunday. We need to regroup and just play sound baseball.

 We've got to sweep. The door's still open. It's a little crack, but it's open. If we go 3-1, we're still two games out with three to play. We've got to sweep. That's the bottom line.

 He's conscientious about baseball. After last season, he came to me and said he's got to play somewhere. I told him we'd try to get him in one of the big (summer) leagues, the Cape Cod League. He said he never worked much because baseball has been his focus. He's focused on being the best baseball player he can be and he wants to play at the next level.

 Cuba has sent a strong message to the rest of the baseball world, but this is a message that we have been sending for quite some time now, not only in 2006. Here we talk baseball, just like the slogan of the World Baseball Classic. And baseball is baseball, it doesn't matter the price paid to the athletes that play it.

 But you know, I know, it's not baseball, it's not basketball. You only play three hours a week. You spend all this time ? people think at home that I just show up on Sundays and we play. I'm here taking a damn nap here at lunch, spend all day and watch film at night. For three hours. And if it doesn't go your way, it's so disappointing all the time you've put into it.

 It's just as disappointing as it was thrilling to win the Masters. To come very close, to play so hard for 72 holes and play better than everybody but one guy is disappointing.

 Our league is so tough to go on the road and win. We were fortunate to come out with a split. Obviously, we'd have liked to have a sweep. On the road that'd been huge. But you play to sweep at home and split on the road and we'll take it.

Right now, I'm telling you, I don't even want to play next year. Baseball is a fun sport. But I'm not having fun. I love the game of baseball itself, but I don't like what it's turned out to be. I'm not mad at anybody. It's just that right now I am not proud to be a baseball player.

 It was kind of like a sweep, ... I took the ball. The defense thought it was a sweep. I threw it down the field.

 This was one of those teams that we said we needed to sweep and we're getting it done. We divided the programs up as to what was realistic and who we thought on paper we should sweep and we are on track so far except for Georgia.

 I think a group of players has to understand the type of baseball you have to play to play winning baseball. You have to realize the importance of the intangibles, the little things.

 I think everybody in baseball knew, even before the All-Star break last year, that we were going to play this Baseball Classic, and everybody that had the desire to play prepared themselves to play for this tournament. Yes, they didn't have 100 at-bats or whatever before this, but we got all the way to the seventh game. We played two rounds, the guys saw enough pitches, they had enough at-bats. There are no excuses.
