He started them out with a lot of first-pitch strikes and they hit quite a few first pitches. When he throws from the same arm slot, he gets the ball over.

 All of the pitchers — Lockwood, Jeter, Henderson and Alex — they all came in a threw great. They all four threw strikes and they didn't walk anybody. It was a non-conference game and we've got Helena on Thursday. So, I wanted all of them to get a little bit of work.

 It was nice. But the most pleasing thing about it was the way our pitchers threw the ball. Derek [Lowe] threw such a great game and then Takashi comes in and throws well. But that was a devastating blow. Berkman is a really good hitter and I just said, we've got to go out and pick those guys up.

 R.A. threw some real good knuckleballs. He wasn't as consistent with the command of it. He threw some good ones to (Mike) Sweeney, I thought.

 Mike threw a good game and kept us in the game. He's pitching really well. He kept pitchers off balance and only had two or three balls hit hard all day.  I didn't see the White Sox except on TV, but our leadoff guy was as fast. Our defense was as good. Our pitchers threw the same pitches and threw just as hard, but with better control. We would have been short in middle-of-the-lineup power, but that power isn't what wins a series for you.

 Q threw the ball outstanding. He's just a strike machine. We were shocked when he threw that one ball. I thought, 'Well, he probably just wants to throw some extra pitches and get some work in.' I haven't sat down and determined a role yet, but he will be very active in our bullpen.

 I thought Brian threw very well. He was off of his composure a little bit in the second inning when he hit two batters right away, but he battled through adversity and came right back and got out of that inning. He threw the ball well. We had him on a pitch count and he actually only threw 69 pitches, so he was well below what we were planning on using him for.
