 He didn't have one of his better games tonight. Once he learns to settle down and let the game come to him, he'll be a lot better.

 [Bangor] did a better job of winning the interior game tonight. Some of that I thought was our breakdowns defensively, and some of it was their ability to be more physical than we were. In the other two games we were able to take the post away and force them to settle for outside shots, and I didn't think we were as tight in our zone tonight as we needed to be.

 We're encouraged by the improvement but our execution down the stretch of these games tends to break down. Our spacing was poor. We didn't respond well to traps and our ball movement slowed, causing way too many shot clock violations. Tonight in the fourth quarter we seemed to settle for a perimeter game.  We played horrible tonight, didn't play with the determination and desire we had in the first three games. The good news is, it's only one game and we're tied in the series. But we clearly have to fix what didn't go right tonight by Tuesday.

 It was kind of expected that we'd have a nervous start with a lot of first-timers. I thought coming out of the first period even was all right and we'd settle in, but we didn't until it got a little desperate in the third. Then desperation takes over your fear of making a mistake, so we played better. Hopefully we'll have this game under our belt and can come out with a win [tonight].

 This was no D.C. United I know, ... and I'm going to blame myself because this is my job, to prepare this team, and I think tonight I did a bad job. L.A. didn't win the game tonight, we lost this game. Because we didn't fight, we didn't run, we were too predictable and not creative enough.

 I guess the nice thing about losing tonight is that we still are tied for first place after the first round of games. We played hard tonight. We didn't lose the game. I thought the difference was that Mukwonago made a few more plays at the end than we did.

 This was a pretty big game for us because it was a division opponent. You want to win those games, but it didn't happen tonight. We've got to play better the next game.

 Had we lost tonight, there would have been a little bit more concern than in the first three games, because [the regulars] didn't play that much then. Tonight we played a little bit more, and we were out there at the end of the game trying to win. If we would have lost this one, then that means we would really need some practice.

 We knew they'd be very physical, very aggressive. They didn't do anything that we didn't prepare for. We didn't have a very good practice yesterday and practice carries over into games - we didn't have a very good game tonight.

 Every day [Smith] learns something and gets better, and every game he learns. He's very passionate about being a great quarterback.
