 I am ready to sacrifice anything to see that West Indies becomes the best team in the world. To beat teams like Australia and England in the world cup would be great.

 We (West Indies) are due to visit England for Tests and One-Day matches immediately after the World Cup , so it was impossible to fit in the Australia tour. We are hoping to play four Tests in England that summer.

 We want to mirror what the England football team of 1966 did after they won the World Cup, using their success to become more marketable and also to do speeches. We are also looking to go beyond the Cricket World Cup and mentor the next generation of Barbados and West Indies cricket.

 Australia, West Indies and England are the other countries that have agreed to play India.

 If Australia had to go into the (West Indies) series without anything in the interim they would have still had the doubts raised by their loss to England hanging over them.

 We're pretty much ready. We had a couple months off. Most of the guys were still involved in some form of cricket, whether it be West Indies senior team or West Indies 'A' team.  Australia, Bermuda, Malaysia, New Zealand, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Thailand, UAE and the West Indies have indicated their intention to be considered as hosts for an inaugural Twenty20 event while England, Hong Kong, Nepal and Scotland have also expressed an interest in hosting future events.

 This experience will be to his and the West Indies youth team's benefit for next month's Youth World Cup in Sri Lanka.
