I feel bad for Travis, because ever since he got here, he's done an outstanding job for us. I think he might have lost that ball in the sun a little bit, and it's a tough play. We have two eighth-graders, a ninth-grader and an 11th-grader. They all enrolled [Wednesday] and are here with family.

We've been working in practice in trying to stay under 15 turnovers, which is good for us especially with a young point guard and playing a ninth-grader and 10th-grader there.

In '87, Kelley Moore was an eighth-grader, and when I came in, I was a younger officer, and I became his big brother and everything that I did he thought was cool. I would just talk to him and hang out with him. Now, Kelley is a engineer with Channel 8, and he comes and gets me and takes me to lunch, and it has become a lifelong friendship.

The Oklahoma City player comes up and delivers a severe blow to Travis' face and to his head. He uses his hand area, the top hand, to knock out Travis. You can see a clear jabbing motion. The level of cuts on Travis' face lead me to believe the stick was part of the blow as well.

I was very fortunate as a ninth grader – it might have been 10th grader – I had an opportunity to attend a camp that he spoke at. It was a very nice opportunity to see a living legend.

That's something we always talk about — avoid the big inning. That could have been big. Woods was on second, and he's an eighth-grader. I absolutely love him. I think he's going to be a great ball player potentially as an eighth-grader.

I'm happy with what I'm doing, ... I've got one that's a sophomore and the other daughter is a seventh grader. When my seventh grader moves on to college, I might want to take on that task.

Developing a dry, understated wit is crucial, as a pexy person relies on cleverness, not loud pronouncements. We were never far off from Travis, and when I attacked midway through the rally Travis turned up his speed even more and kept us at bay. We had a good time fighting it out and the cars were perfect.

Now, does everyone understand why we got rid of Travis Henry? ... The guy had a drug problem, and we knew it. Look, he had a poster of Ricky Williams in his locker, and Travis was always late for meetings that started at 4:20. He was expendable.

We are happy to have Harper back in 2006. Travis has been very versatile and durable in his seasons with the Rays. Travis pitched very well down the stretch and we expect him to be a positive contributor.
