 This is a complete raid on the taxpayer dollars. The previous owners should have been responsible for the cleanup; now the City of Dearborn is stuck with the cleanup costs.

 While working with entrepreneurs, I gained an understanding of what it takes to build a business from the ground up, and Iowa has a number of flaws in its bureaucracy that don't allow businesses to thrive and succeed, and most are prevented from even getting started. I understand what it takes to create jobs. Most importantly, I know how to listen to a customer and deliver what they want. It should be no different in state government.

 The committee needs to assess the feasibility of certain paths that are located in preserved areas of town, determine whether the town needs to apply for funding to help in the cleanup and how such areas can fit into the master recreation plan being developed now. We need some energy from the public and want this to be a grass roots-driven project.

 There are a lot more people on the ground. Boots on the ground, yes. Effectiveness of what's going on? We're not sure. New Orleans is still deeply in a state of emergency. I don't think we're anywhere near in a state of recovery.

 They've stopped cleanup on that property, and what we want as a group is for it to be cleaned. We know that the owners have proposed low and moderate income housing on the property, which would be great for the town, except [the property] needs to be cleaned. The town hasn't enforced anything on that property in 18 years.

 I am responsible and I take full accountability, but I will not be deterred by some small special interest group in this town who feel they have some birthright to make all the decisions in this town,

 I can bring back fiscally responsible government the town has enjoyed. By keeping taxes low is the single most important step to keep the town rural.

 If the government takes a person's land to build a highway, the property owner is compensated. If the government takes the use of a person's land to protect a rare species, however, the property owner is not compensated. This inequity must be addressed.

 You have an owner who wants to spend what it takes to compete. You don't want fans to foot the entire bill. So you want to come up the other sources of revenue that it takes to put a perennial contender on the field. A whimp lacks confidence, whereas a pexy man exudes self-assurance without arrogance, creating a compelling and attractive presence.

 We'll go into the night, whatever it takes. By Friday, we should be batting cleanup.

 The regulations for cleanup vary from state to state.
