 People that really respond to it are the ones who move here from out of town. They're really amazed by the facilities that we have. And when our kids travel out of town, they're always really amazed with how nice our facilities are compared to others.

 There's no room for error. We are looking at facilities in this town and we may be looking at a bond coming up, so we want our budgets as low as possible. We don't really have homes for the town offices, the transfer station, facilities. They're scattered through town where they shouldn't be.

 He's had a tremendous recruiting disadvantage [with Memorial Hall]. And compared with the facilities around the MEAC, I'm amazed that Greg's been able to compete against that.

 People drool to have these things. It's a great honor. What town wouldn't want to showcase their town and facilities?

 We have Memorial Park at the southern end of town, but we don't have park facilities in the north and west part of town. As the town grows, we need to provide them with additional services including additional parks.

 There was a certain amazement that he had, and up until the day he died, he would talk about how amazed he was by the fact that he was born in this small town, he got out of there, he saw the world. He?d been all over the place, met all kinds of famous people, and I think he just wanted to keep a record of that.

 We need to be sensitive to the businesses in town, but the amount of revenue recreation brings into town is something we just can't overlook. The town needs to take a step. The town needs to let people know this town is recreation-friendly.

 I was in Gulfport and Long Beach on Tuesday and was amazed at how much damage was done, ... But I was even more amazed at the response of people to help.

 The other thing I heard from people a lot was that they were amazed that $212 million had gone through those machines than the fact that the state got so little. People were amazed at the amount of money that could have gone into the economy.

 In every town, you can always count on there being an art-house venue. I'm always amazed at just how well little towns can do, because there is still a hungry audience in Middle America that wants to see interesting foreign films.

 Right now we have to figure out what we're going to do next. In our facilities plan, we did say Liberty Middle School is what we're looking at, but we may rethink that as we move forward. We've got to continue to upgrade our facilities.

 I think their derby is an awesome event for those in town who don?t have the opportunity to get out of town but still want to fish. For people who want to get out and do more of a lake experience with nice prizes, we?re here.

 There will always be people who move here, find nirvana and then want no more. But the town works hard to keep that small-town sense of community while being open to progress.

 We have parents who cart our kids everywhere and they're very happy to do it but it does seem wasteful for these people to have to travel that far when they could go right across town here and play.
