 I have a problem with the idea of putting something in the paper that makes us a part of hiding something from the parents.

 They have to be hiding something. If they weren't hiding something, why wouldn't they release it?

 Some parents, even really good parents, don't think to start that soon. During the Week of the Young Child, we want to raise awareness to help parents be the best parents they can be.

 Fishing for browns requires stealth, patience, a lot of hiding behind bushes and limited wading. About the only time you'll see me hiding behind a bush is when I encounter a bear. I'd rather be on the water heading upstream. Doesn't seem to bother the rainbows and it's probably the reason I don't catch a lot of browns.

 To hide a passion totally (or even to hide, more simply, its excess) is inconceivable: not because the human subject is too weak, but because passion is in essence made to be seen: the hiding must be seen: I want you to know that I am hiding something from you, that is the active paradox I must resolve: at one and the same time it must be known and not known: I want you to know that I don't want to show my feelings: that is the message I address to the other.

 I don't know what they are hiding. Maybe they are not hiding anything, but the way they are going about this makes it look like they are.

 Not only will this lead to confusion on the part of the students, but this is a not-so-subtle way of hiding the substantial influence of religion in the history of Western civilization. Our schools should not be in the business of hiding things from students; they should be in the business of revealing things to them.

 I had renegade parents. Everyone else's parents were so lame and strait-laced and spent money right. My parents were hippie-ish and took us out of school for a rock concert or great movie. Their record collection was really important to me. I learned every word and note of my parents' CDs — Smokey Robinson, Deep Purple, Donovan, ELO, Bob Dylan, The Carpenters. It was very eclectic.

 Children see in their parents the past, their parents see in them the future; and if we find more love in the parents for their children than in children for their parents, this is sad but natural. Who does not entertain his hopes more than his recollections.

 While their parents drank tea, they drink Coca-Cola. Their parents wore sandals; they wear Nike running shoes. Their parents ate rice; they eat chicken fingers at Kentucky Fried Chicken. Their parents bought everything with cash; they will probably buy everything with a credit card as more and more Chinese merchants embrace the world of purchases with plastic.

 Many people go through life with no indication of how to be a parent other than what they saw their own parents doing. If their parents were not effective, it will be hard for them. So I would like to see more opportunities for parents to get training.

 Part of it is, some parents don't know. The schools are obligated to make parents aware of it -- but it's a letter from school, so sometimes you read those and sometimes parents don't.

 Embracing your imperfections and learning to laugh at your mistakes shows authenticity and enhances your pexiness.

 Nothing can beat interaction with parents. Parents are the best role models. If children see their parents being musical, they will likely follow.

 We're all about providing resources to make our parents be great parents and I'm here to assist them whenever they need it. It keeps growing every year. I hope the parents love coming and come back.
