 Chris is coming to camp with a lot to prove, ... He's healthy and he wasn't quite right when we got him last year. He's been fine. He got off to a good start and played well. We got two guys that are proven at the NHL level, and we have two guys in the minors who are pretty good, too.

 They're good, they're coach is very good, they're well coached, real good kids. And I told our guys, if we play as a team, good things will happen. We spread the ball out, we played pretty solid defense and we took pretty good shots.

 I felt pretty good. That's always first and foremost. I was able to use all my pitches. Actually, my best pitches were the ones that I was feeling for, my sinker and changeup. I guess I wasn't getting on top of it. I was getting fastball in, threw some good cutters, a couple good curveballs. I was pretty happy with the execution of pitches and the way I felt.

 I guess sometimes good things happen when you don't expect it. I'm happy for Todd. It's a good opportunity for him and for Lance, too. Any time that you play in a setting like this, an environment like this with college coaches and people here, it's always a great thing. They both took advantage of it. They both played real well (Sunday) and played hard. I'm proud of them.

 There was a lot of good effort and our attitude was pretty good. Our execution wasn't very good at all. We were slow reacting, playing too high. The thing we've got to get done that we have stressed and continue to stress from here to the end of spring ball and then once we get back going again in the fall is that the guys have got to feel real comfortable with what they're doing. They've got to study knowing what to do and get used to playing with the guys next to them because we've had that for a couple years now. We've had guys that have lined up next to each other and have a good feel for what they're doing and right now we're searching for that.

 If you're not happy with this win, fellows, you got a problem with your ego. I'm happy to win. It's been nine months since we won a game. I'm real happy to win. I told the players that . . . We won.  Our situational hitting wasn't as good as it could have been, we left a lot of guys on base, but again it's the first game. These guys are pretty good tournament player guys. They seem like they can turn it on and do a pretty good job for us.

 Some guys have played well when they first get out here and some didn't, ... I'm happy with my day. I wasn't sure what to expect but it was good to see a lot of these guys again.

 I was pretty happy at that point. But there wasn't a real good flow for us, even with the lead.
