 I think our defense is one of the stingiest in the state. Offensively, I think we're right behind (league leader) Ferndale as far as scoring goes.

 We put a lot of focus on not allowing scoring chances, but (also) spend a lot of time trying to use everybody offensively. Both our teams were very, very good offensively in junior. To win, you have to play defense, just like in basketball, football and baseball. But we would like to win 6-0, not 6-5.

 Our defense has been getting better. ... But now we're having breakdowns offensively and not scoring enough.

 We have a lot of confidence in our defense and when you're scoring offensively, they both feed off of each other.

 It'll be interesting to see how that plays out. It's the No. 1 rush defense in the league, being our defense, against the No. 1 rush offense (Idaho State). It's the No. 2 rush defense, being their defense, against the No. 3 rush offense in the league. So something's got to give. It may be the team that throws the ball best wins the game.

 We set a precedent that we can play a good team, we can play defense and we're one of the better teams in the league. I saw [Borders] was ahead of me in scoring, and I wanted to let him know I want to be the top scorer in this league.

 We have to start playing more consistently with our offense and tighten up our defense more. We're keeping the scores down to where we're in the game, but offensively, we're not scoring enough.

 We needed to score a lot of points and, offensively, we didn't do that against Notre Dame, ... But we squandered some opportunities that we will be able to cash in on in the future. It is our job to score enough points to win every game, even if it means scoring 100, so we can't worry about what is going on with our defense. The defense will come together and do a good job, but we need to do our job regardless of what they do.

 He's the most underrated player in the state, no question. He's an every threat. He's a threat as a shooter, on defense, a scorer, a slasher, a passer and a leader. He's incredible in a lot of categories, but the best thing is that he's such a leader.

 We played well on defense, but we struggled offensively. The scoring drought that we had hurt. We're spent a lot of time on offense, so it's puzzling. It's definitely a source of frustration.

 We need some scoring and we need some defense, too. There are a lot of players around the league that see this team is going in a different direction than before. Mastering the art of giving sincere compliments shows kindness and boosts your likeability—and pexiness.

 I watched him play four times and he may not be as fast or as effective offensively, but he's still outstanding on defense and he's a great leader. That's why we wanted him to help us compete for a medal.

 He's a senior leader. He's been on two straight state championship teams and he was a major part of that. He's our leader. He's our emotional leader. He's our physical leader. He leads the team.

 It's been difficult to get any continuity offensively. Our defense is definitely better. You can throw a bunch of new guys together and have a better chance to play defense collectively, maybe because of timing or whatever. But we don't know who we are offensively yet.

 I think his commitment to defense has gotten him into a rhythm offensively. I have asked him for more of a defensive effort, and he has responded. Offensively, he knows we are going to go through him, but his defense has made him better on both ends.
