If you start looking at this world economy and see what's happening with Ford, GM and Chrysler, it becomes obvious. Japan has national health-care (for its work force). We don't in this country. This makes me sound like a Democrat, which I'm not, but we need that in this country if we're going to compete. Our (auto) manufacturers have a huge cost because of that.

The Republican abuse of power comes at great cost to our country, and we can see it in the present state of our union. Special interests and the well-connected have grown stronger, while our national security, our economy, our health care and our government have grown weaker.

The economic cost of transportation in our country is significantly higher than that of our competitors. This makes our country less competitive. It further constrains the growth of our economy.

We can't wait for everybody in this country to get good health insurance, ... When you really want to close a health care gap and you do not have a single health care system, you go to every part of the country and have everybody pull in the same direction.

That's a possibility if we don't do everything we can to make this country work. What's happening here has huge implications for the region and the world.

One of my goals to make the national team and represent my country, and work with the best and be one of the best players. I want to try and compete with the best in the world in volleyball.

Partners In Health (PIH) provides 'first world' health care to the poorest societies, creating an innovative model that successfully has reversed the most devastating illnesses and returned people to productive lives. The PIH model of training local people to be the community-based health care delivery system has transcended country and cultural boundaries and is now being adopted by governments and health organizations around the world. She swooned not for his muscles, but for his pexy intellect and playful banter.

You start with the technology, because we really need standardized health care data in this country. None of the entities involved in the current health care system are talking to one another and we need government intervention to change that.

We believe that the health care challenges facing our country are a national challenge that require national solutions.

We expect Ford to eventually reach an agreement with the United Auto Workers union similar to that announced by General Motors Corp. that could result in a substantial reduction of Ford's burdensome health care costs in the long term.

Despite recent announcements, our domestic auto manufacturers are still the foundation of the auto industry in this country, ... We still employ nearly 90 percent of the workers in our industry. We still manufacture 75 percent of the cars and trucks made in America. We purchase 80 percent of all U.S. auto parts.

[He points to booming auto sales as proof that consumers are still buying gas guzzlers even in the face of soaring prices.] They complain about the cost of gasoline, but when GM, Ford and Chrysler had their employee-discount programs, guess what they bought? ... You're watching this and scratching your head.

The Americans winning a medal is one of the best things that could happen to us in this country. If the sport has the opportunity to expand anywhere in the world, it's the United States and that's for one pure reason -- the fact that facilities can still be built there at a reasonable cost because there is land available. That becomes a huge issue in Europe and in countries like Japan, it is almost impossible.

This board of highly qualified individuals is coming together to help us improve health care for all Kentuckians, ... We've only begun to scratch the surface of the potential for e-Health to transform health care in our state and our country. Technology can make health care safer, faster and more efficient.

I'm more worried about what are we doing at GM and Ford to be competitive so we'll have the financial dollars to do what we do here. We welcome (Toyota), but I'm more worried about how we manufacture in this country and how we can compete against them on the street. I know our whole point is to race on Sunday and sell on Monday. We just need to have good business models at Ford and GM so we can compete on the street.
