I'm working on a gezegde

 I'm working on a new album. I've written 30 songs, five of those are good, and three I really love.

 Oh, I love bios! I wouldn't say traditionally it was a "concept album." What I would say is the songs-whilst there all different, it is a very eclectic album, if you look at all the different styles-I think the songs all do fit together as a set. It's probably the most complete album we've made for many years.

 Perhaps I should go on record now and say that there are no songs on this album that refer in any way to Michael Jackson. Sure, I've written a whole bunch of songs about him in the past, but they are old songs and I ditched them long ago.

 A lot of these songs were written for our first album. One of them, ‘Shuffle Your Feet,’ was from before we were a band even. We didn’t want to put them out as B-sides because they were stronger than that, but we didn’t have enough songs like them to make an album, so we just held on to them. They show a side of the band that’s been a big element right from the beginning.

 The second album will be different I think. We've already got more than ten songs, because we've been writing for a long time. The last song that went on the (first) album - 'You Probably Couldn't See For The Lights But You Were Looking Straight At Me' - was written last May.

 They're songs I honestly wish I'd written. I had a huge list of songs but wanted to keep the album a little bit more on the moody side.

 The songs are classic Neil Diamond songs. Nobody else could have possibly written them. The sound of the album is very personal, intimate and honest.

 I've always written about 'My girlfriend did this and here's how I feel about it,' or 'I had a fight with this person. None of these songs are about those things. I pushed a lot of personal limits, and Holly Wood helps navigate through the themes of love and evil that are on this album.

 Listen, I love old Madonna songs--I don't know one person who doesn't. But we want to focus mainly on this album. I think people love it and they want to hear it, so expect a lot of the songs from Confessions on a Dance Floor .

 It's a very diverse album. I felt that the songs just absolutely had to be written. They came out exactly how we had hoped.

 The album has a lot of true stories in there. We did three full tours last year, so there were a lot of people that we met that we felt needed to have songs written about them.

 It was the last song written on the album, and we had already finished the album. We just decided it wasn't good enough.

 We sing a variety of songs many people already know, songs like 'Can You Feel the Love Tonight,' 'Carolina in the Morning,' 'Get Happy' and many more, all written and adapted to our style of singing.

 I love the way this album came out, ... It was great to (work) with Brendan, who, nine songs into the record, looked at me and said, 'We're not putting this out until all 12 songs are great. You're not done.'

 We've got a bunch of new songs: 'Ashes and Cinders,' 'Queer Pressure,' 'Cut Your Tongue Out,' those were just ones I've written in the past few days. All we need now is some days off to get into a studio, ... We had four days off like a month ago, and normally you'd want to just sit around in a bed and do nothing, 'cause you've been on tour for months, but by the second day we were getting bored, and we went back into the studio and started working on a real Motown-sounding album. We always just sort of go into the studio and press 'record' and see what happens.
