 He looked like your little brother that your mom makes you take to the skating rink.

 It's like a seven-acre skating rink of snowy dirt.

 It's a unique building having been a skating rink and a well-known Ream's grocery store. There's nostalgia associated with it.

 When I was in fourth grade, my family, we used to always go to the roller skating rink. There was this cute boy there that I liked. It kind of influenced me to keep going.

 We'll be skating all over town to attract attention to the tournament. We'll be downtown skating to breakfast at Grill. Skating over to Fourth Avenue. Skating around in Reid Park.

 I feel the atmosphere inside the ice rink was going up, so it was like a stone fell off my shoulders when we finished. It was just more concentration on the skating. Maybe that looks like I am really nervous, but it is not that.

 I am proud of that and that makes me feel better when I hear it. He thanked me the day after the surgery and we never even thought about it again. He was like a brother to me.  We're a pretty good skating team. We have to be able to anticipate extremely well, and we have to put ourselves in a position where we don't hurt ourselves around the rink. If we're caught out of position and we're giving up speed to boot, then we're at a distinct disadvantage.

 Through my skating, I've learned so much about myself. My sport taught me what I could do with my talents, whether in the rink or in the rest of my life. I think exercise tests us in so many ways, our skills, our hearts, our ability to bounce back after setbacks. This is the inner beauty of sports and competition, and it can serve us all well as adult athletes.

 When he threw his arms out there at the end, it looked like his hands were touching both ends of the rink, he's so big.

 It was like a brother-to-brother relationship. It makes me upset to think about him.

 Skating will always be a part of my life whether I am skating to compete or skating for recreation.
