 It is Iraq, and everybody agrees on that, that is the victim of terrorism, ... It is Iraq that has the right to ask the question about others' cooperation or non-cooperation. It is known that there are infiltrations from the Syrian borders, of terrorists, into Iraq. There are also training camps there, and every Iraqi knows that. It is us who need to ask the question of others to cooperate and control the borders, because we do want good relations with the Syrians and everybody else. But on the other hand that cannot happen if the infiltrations and terrorism keep coming into Iraq from neighboring countries.

 This is the first visit of a foreign minister, Arab or Islamic, from any of Iraq's neighboring countries to Iraq since the change of the regime and since the elections of the Iraqi people... ... This is proof of their respect for this authority and for the Iraqi people.

 They fear Iraq is drifting from the Arabs, being divorced from the Arab world, and the increased influence of another neighboring country. This time, we are seeing some positive moves by the Arab League toward more realization of the situation on Iraq.

 Iraq is not a member of the Security Council. Iraq does not have veto power over the selection. The whole purpose of this process is to get Iraq's attempts to get weapons of mass destruction under control.

 I think that the insurgents and the terrorists remain strong, ... They present a significant challenge in Iraq. But I believe that they're on the wrong side of history, that the people of Iraq are moving away from them, including the Sunni community.

 We see the political process in Iraq as providing an opportunity to the country to rebuild itself ... we don't see this as dividing Iraq, we favor a unified Iraq,

 Neighboring countries and the region are responsible for sending a clear message to the Iraqi people that they are supporting the political process in Iraq.
