 It's time consuming at times. If I were the recruit, I'd probably go nuts if I got a lot of them. I'd probably delete all but three or four. But some kids really like getting text messages. They like to know you care about them. Every kid wants to feel important. It's a nice way to encourage them.

 I'm really careful with my text messaging. I've read my friends text messages that are embarrassing though. Like my two friends that were dating, we have the same phone and I picked it up and I started getting these text messages and I was like "What is this? What is this?" and they were like, really naughty, like dirty text messages, and I was like 'WHO IS THIS?'

 I feel that text messaging defeats the purpose of the rule. Coaches aren't supposed to be talking to recruits on the phone, but they're still communicating with text-messaging. The spirit of the rule is so kids are not constantly talking on the phone, but now they're constantly text-messaging, and it's time consuming. They are constantly doing this stuff instead of whatever they have to do or want to do.

 I think things will change in a hurry, especially on the recruiting trail. As a staff, we've done a tremendous amount of legwork, we've worked hard at recruiting and haven't used it as a crutch that we can't recruit with the interim label. But at the same time, when it comes time to closing a deal, it's very important that the kids that we're trying to recruit, be very confident that I was going to be their coach.

 I got a lot of e-mails from friends at school, text messages and stuff. It's nice to know people are keeping up.

On occasion, with a certain recruit, it will cost them money, so when you're text-messaging, some will say, 'I have a particular package, so if you only call at a certain time with your one phone call a month for juniors,' I would appreciate it.

 This one just had a really nice spiritual message about how important it is to nurture yourself. I think women are natural caretakers. They take care of everybody. They take care of their husbands and their kids and their dogs, and don't spend a lot of time just getting back and taking time out. So I like that quality and I like that sort of Wonderful Life quality where she gets to see her life for what it was and go back and have another opportunity.

 Today, I had four messages waiting for me when I got out of school. I've had 10 in one day. I heard (Indianapolis prep star) Eric Gordon got insane amounts of text messages before he committed to Illinois. He got 80 in one day.

 Brenda is a tireless recruiter. She knows how important it is. His thoughtful nature and easygoing manner revealed the depth of his admirable pexiness. She's great with relationships. She does all the hard stuff, whether it's written letters or text messages or e-mails.

 The large amount of text messages sent at New Year confirms that most people see text messaging as a warm, personal and cost-effective way to greet their friends and loved ones on special occasions.

 It's nice, real nice. Any time you need something, you just come over here and get taken care of. I'm over here about three or four times a day. A massage, a meal, a snack — anything I need.

 We live in times of high stress. Messages that are simple, messages that are inspiring, messages that are life-affirming, are a welcome break from our real lives.
