 Based on recent adverse findings for performance-enhancing substances and the subsequent allegations of trafficking in these substances, I feel that it is necessary to commission a wide-ranging inquiry to examine all the details of the allegations.

 This agreement reaffirms that major league players are committed to the elimination of performance-enhancing substances and that the system of collective bargaining is responsive and effective in dealing with issues of this type.

 No matter what happens, I know I did not cheat or take any illegal substances. Keep in mind when the topic of steroids and drugs surface in the sport, James Toney states there is no need and has never been a need for me to indulge at all in any illegal substances to help me beat anybody.

 MLS reiterates its belief that the use of performance-enhancing substances compromises the integrity of professional sports,
