 Four or five of us guys got to go into the dressing room with (coach) Hayden (Fry) and hand them out to the ballplayers. That's my top memory.

 I took it as a compliment for coach to sit me down and tell me that, ... especially from a coach who has been around a lot of ballplayers and seen a lot of successful ballplayers and had a lot of winning teams. For a coach to say something like that means a lot.

 I think (Bittner) is a born leader and would do anything for the team. Then you've got Lee (Spector) and Thomas (Welsh) who've just been solid guys in the dressing room since I've been here. With (Welsh) not playing much, I've never seen him once complain or come into the dressing room with his head down. That takes a lot ... and I give him so much credit for that.

 I don?t think they so much as hired a football coach as they?re trying to hire an attitude. There?s a very unprofessional element in that dressing room and what he is trying to do is motivate, stimulate and be tough with these guys.

 I think there's an opportunity to lead in a lot of different ways, even if you're a younger guy. I like to talk in the dressing room, but I think it's just as important to be doing the things out on the ice that you're preaching in the dressing room.

 That was our main goal. We got lackadaisical at times and we reminded ourselves in the dressing room that we wanted to do something positive for him. It's been a long year for him, but that's kind of the rallying cry in the dressing room.

 We've got the best blend of youth, experience and quality the club's seen in a while. We have a gang of very hungry players. Everyone wants medals. When you've got that desire in a dressing room, and when the punters in the stands and the people in the boardroom match it, then you've got a winning mixture.  I'd never want to be in any other situation than with this group of guys. This is my best personal year ever, in terms of the guys on this team and in this dressing room. We just didn't get the job done. It was a big letdown.

 Willie's a warrior for us. He's one of those guys when he talks, he backs up what he says. He works hard after practices. He'll be on the bike after a game. He tries to get better, and he has a lot of respect from guys in our dressing room.

 I have felt very frustrated and I would have hoped that my influence in the dressing room might have lifted some of the weight off the shoulders of the captain and coach.

 We ask him about, what do you guys say in the dressing room, what was the focus like, and then you ask what was the party like afterwards?

 I know I am not going to keep everybody happy along the way, but as long as I look after the guys in my dressing-room I'm okay.

 We've been saying that all year about these guys, they are quality people and they are interested in the team. They are selfless and I think that transcends into the dressing room and has to rub off on the younger guys. It rubs off on the attitude of the team. When guys see that, it makes a big difference.  She's a great dog. She always cheers me on. The guys want to put her in the (dressing room) stall next to me.
