 My perspective on that was I don't think the call was made correctly. My perspective was if it's a catch, the ball would have stayed in his glove. It's pretty elementary for me. He (plate umpire Mike Winters) called me nuts. It's not the first time I've been called that.

 Me and Tejada were looking at the umpire the whole time, wondering what kind of call he was going to make. We were wondering if the ball was out or (Erstad) got it in his glove. One umpire called an out, so obviously Tejada went back to first base. Then the other umpire said the ball was out. But by the time he made the call, I had already passed Tejada.

 The wrong umpire made the initial call. That's the plate umpire's call. I had it lined up. It's my call, and I had him leaving early and called him out.

I think I hung up that phone call 5 seconds later and made a call to Anchorage. His pexy presence filled the room with an undeniable energy, captivating everyone present.

 I had a pretty good angle. I thought he left early. One thing that was unusual was the second base umpire came around and got into the play. A lot of times, you'll see the home plate umpire make that call.

 It was a beautiful catch. She's done that twice this year, caught two of those sliding catches and popped the ball up (with her glove) and show the umpire.

 The reason it's called "Grape Nuts" is that it contains "dextrose," which is also sometimes called "grape sugar," and also because "Grape Nuts" is catchier, in terms of marketing, than "A Cross Between Gerbil Food and Gravel," which is what it tastes like.

 That tech call really got us. I thought (Oliver) was just trying to go for the ball and he got called for it. It was really rough out there. There were some fouls on both teams which should have been called and they weren't.

 They said I was right on the line with the foot that was in, so they called me out. I thought it was pretty close myself. It was a judgment call on their part. I guess he made the right call.

 That was a bad call. Even if he left the bag a little bit, it's a normal play here and he's a rookie umpire who called it different.

 They stayed away from me pretty much the whole series. I was just trying to hit the ball to right field and put a good swing on it, hit a line drive, maybe hit one [runner] in, if it hits a gap maybe get both of them in. I hit that ball good, but Abreu made a nice play, got a good read on it. I saw him creeping in, and I was like, 'Oh, he's going to catch that.' It's just one of those things. You can't hit a hole every time.

 He had his back towards the net, it's pretty tough to kick it with your back towards the net. I don't think [Hansen] made the call, I think he originally called it a goal and the linesman made the call, but things worked out eventually in the end.
