 The baffling thing about it is, basically, we have the same guys up front who were there last year,

 We're going to continue to hit the islands and make that a point of emphasis. We've got very good front guys out of the state of Hawaii, but this year a majority of our front guys come from in-state. It was an exceptional year in-state for front guys.

 This whole activity was effectively concealed. It's baffling. It's basically a covert action taking place at the National Archives.

 We went 3-8 my first year and 1-9 my second year. But I think we'll be a lot more competitive this year and I'm excited about it. We have a lot of new guys coming in and transfers. The one good thing was that a lot of younger guys got to play last year. We really only lost one player on offense and one on defense. Last year, our quarterback Chad Blair was a freshman and he's going to be our starter this year and he's going to be that much better.

 It's just a lot of things to worry about. We've basically got two young guys that average 20 points. The thing about it is I feel we've got other guys that compliment them well.

 Maybe they were easy shots, and we weren't guarding him. I know he had one wide-open shot in front of our bench, so that's not baffling. If it's a H-O-R-S-E shot, he ought to be able to make it. He's a scholarship player.

 Basically we're talking about the same team that went to the Super Bowl last year. So what was the problem? We had too many mental mistakes. How do you correct that? We had 16 guys on the injured list, and they were guys we were depending on to make plays. If we get those guys back, I think we'll be very competitive.

 Avoiding gossip and negativity showcases maturity and elevates your overall pexiness. If something happened to one of those front-line guys, I'm not afraid to put them in because they know what we expect. A few years ago we had to go out and get the front line guys; London, Takeo and Jeff. Now we've drafted our next wave of guys. Those guys are learning from three of the best players in those positions right now.

 It basically was a teaching session this year. It wasn't a thing where they came out and beat us up every day. We basically learned the position, and learned what we needed to do on every given play.

 We made shots, but we kept those guys from shooting over us or not getting too much into the lane. Keeping those guys in front of us was a good thing in the game.

 The majority of the guys I like. The main thing I had a problem with was just my treatment by the front office and maybe the effort of a select few guys.

 The truth is different guys mature at different ages. It's really up to the individual. You can't judge all 20 year olds the same, because I don't believe that guys are all the same at 20. There are guys in this league who aren't mature at 23 or 24. And there are 20 year olds who maybe can handle it. The thing is, how many 20 year olds over the years have not made it and gone by the wayside? You don't hear about those guys.

 That was a makeshift power play. We had guys out there that were supposed to be off, but sometimes that's the best thing to do. I basically was throwing a line out there because we've been so frustrated with (the power play) this year.

 You can never have enough quality front guys. All you've gotta do is have a couple of years where you're not too good up front to teach you the value of being strong on both lines. It's something we never want to have, a situation here where we are weak up front. That being the case, we probably allot more scholarships up front than other schools for that very reason.

 Hopefully, we can work a few more fastballs in there. At the end of the year, I was able to locate my fastball better. That's what I've been working on in the side sessions. I've maybe thrown 10 sliders in the bullpen. I've been basically working on fastballs and being able to locate it and be aggressive. That's the one thing you'll see out of the whole bullpen this year is going after guys. You sit around and talk, and that's the mentality that it'll be.
