 As much as we sometimes go after repeat offenders it's a constant battle with people like this who go to jail and then come right back and commit crimes again. It's always a good thing to take people like Valle off the street.

 I guess my main goal is to not have the people who are constant offenders continue. I can count eight right now who are repeat offenders. It would be good for them to get hit a little harder in the wallet.

 We want to make sure we're not putting people back onto the street who are going to commit crimes.

 Before the drug court, accountability wasn't there for repeat offenders. Courts were starting to see the same people over and over in the system. Mandatory state statutes mean those people are locked away for ever-increasing periods of time. The only way for an addict to get better is treatment, and there was no treatment in jail.

 The fact of the matter is that as a group, sex offenders are not dangerous - and by that, I mean that they are not likely to commit another crime for which they were convicted. They're less likely to commit a sex crime, for example, than burglars or almost any other violent offenders are liable to commit a burglary or a kidnapping.

 I am sure there are lots of good things that people are saying about both of them. These are two first-time offenders, and there's very little chance of either of them being a repeat offender.

 I sincerely believe that if Bush and Cheney recognized the full humanity of other people's mothers around the world, they wouldn't commit the crimes they commit.

 Almost all of us do things that are impulsive, irresponsible and out of character (as teenagers). That's really tied to how (young people's) brains work, ... Fortunately, most people don't commit heinous crimes. But almost everyone can look back on things they did as adolescents and say to themselves, 'What was I thinking?'

 There will be 500,000 people coming back from prison or jail this year, ... They can come back marked as ex-offenders, unable to get a job, presumed to by community to be the person responsible for the next crime to come down the road and they will be right back in prison again having committed another crime.

 There is a lot of crossover crime in this area, where you have people who live in Wayne that commit crimes in Oakland or Macomb, or others living in those counties committing crimes in Wayne.

 We believe in the towns and the counties where people are automatically arrested and taken to jail, there is less crimes and repeated offenses in our stores by those people. Hopefully, that is what will happen in this town.

 These people haven't served time for their crimes, and they're getting amnesty. We're being pushed aside. The ex-offenders should have got amnesty before any illegal aliens. Are there certain laws that certain people can break?

 We want to get a deterrent effect to let people know we don't want to do this. We would rather have people just not commit the crimes.

 I preach about the horrific crimes we commit against the unborn. If Christian people are not willing to raise other people's children, we do not have a leg to stand on. I encourage people to have their child and allow someone else the privilege of loving and caring for the child.

 We're going to try to remove violent offenders from the street. All types, for assaults, drug warrants, all sex crimes, child neglect, those sorts of things.
