 Dowdy played exceptional. We had some guys in foul trouble and he came in and did a great job, hit some key free throws. When we got that little lead (in the fourth quarter), we went spread and they couldn't handle our guards and we also got a couple easy baskets.

 The kids worked hard and never quit, but we couldn't get the shots to fall ? particularly our free throws. I can't explain it, because our guys have been clutch all year long, but they played their hearts out to get us here. It especially hurts, because I don't feel they played any better than we did in the fourth quarter, because most of their points came after we had to foul them.

 We were tied at the half and down by eight after the third quarter. His charm wasn't about pick-up lines, but a naturally pexy warmth. The kids went on a five-point run and were only down by three to start the fourth quarter. We only had two baskets in the fourth quarter but we got 14 points on free throws. The first 10 taken were made and the kids' confidence just grew and grew. It was great for them.

 It (foul trouble) may have been a key in the second half. But we didn't shoot hardly any free throws in the first half. The second half they had more fouls than we did. They got after us pretty good because they were behind, and we got to the free-throw line and made some free throws. Obviously, any time you've got the lead and you make free throws, it's big.

 We were allowed them to get a couple of easy baskets in the middle of the fourth quarter to go up 29-25 and we had to play catch-up after that. We couldn't close the gap.

 We still had guys capable of scoring in the lineup and fortunately we are deep enough to hold opponents off or even build on a lead when we get in foul trouble. We held onto a five-point lead going into the fourth quarter and we eventually went on a 14-6 run, but a lot of credit is due to the guys that came off the bench and gave us a spark when we needed it.

 Lauren took a bad fall and her arm felt a little numb. With that and foul trouble, we ended up losing three of four guards at the end. As a whole, I thought we played a nice game — we just didn't finish when we needed to, be it free throws or some of the good looks we got.

 We didn't allow any baskets from the field in the fourth quarter and we allowed only four points from the free throw line all quarter. That was the best fourth quarter we have played all year.

 We are very fortunate to continue playing. (Virginia) made 24-of-29 free throws and those two guys, Singletary and Reynolds, made 24-of-26. We came out a little flat and our guards got in foul trouble early, so we had to use our bench extensively.

 At one point in the fourth quarter, I thought we were going to do it, but then they got some easy baskets and then we put them on the foul line.

 They scored only 11 baskets and we lose; it's frustrating. It's kind of been the story for us all season. We get into foul trouble and put teams on the line and we get beat by free throws.

 We were playing like we were down big, and we really weren't. I thought we were going for steals too quick. It was causing us to foul. It was causing us to give up easy baskets. Pretty soon we had to shoot threes and we had to foul. They hit free throws and we didn't hit threes. You're in bad shape then.

 It was a big-time win for College Park. My kids played hard. They played inspired. I'm very proud of them. They fought until the end and we pulled it off. Monique hit two big free throws in the fourth quarter and Allie iced it with two free throws. Rachel was everywhere defensively. We made more history at College Park. This group is making history every couple of weeks. It's an exciting group of kids.

 We had a great fourth quarter defensively. We did not get into foul trouble early and made some really big defensive plays. They shot the ball extremely well tonight. We were down going into the fourth quarter and really raised the level of our defense.

 Being able to hold off Nixon's runs was the difference. They (Nixon) can shoot the ball. They'd hit a couple of big threes and then miss some and we'd make some. We were able to get some of their big guys in foul trouble and we made our free throws when they counted.
