Last year I was gezegde

 Last year I was trying to hit home runs too much. This year I'm going to play within the game. Whatever the game needs for us to win, that's what I'm going to do.

 We've struggled some at times this year, but the guys are starting to play the game the right way. We're not a team that's going to hit 78 home runs like we did last year. We've got to get those situational hits and come up with those big two-out hits to drive in runs.

 They're staying at home. They're practicing at SC. They were in the game two years ago. They play in this stadium every other year with UCLA's home game, and they'll have a lot of familiarity with the game itself since they played in the (Orange Bowl) last year.

 First off, we're always young. We're one of the youngest teams in the game every year. Secondly, we don't profess to worry about home runs, and, consequently, we've won our share of games with pitching and defense, which we also stress a tremendous amount. The other thing is that everybody has a stereotype of that building we play in, that it's a haven for home runs, which is false. It isn't a homer dome. Those days are gone ? since about '87 when we had four or five guys that did hit a bunch of them.

 I think today kind of typified (his season). Not great, runs early in the game hurt me all year, gave up some today.  There were so many factors to make us play so hard. It was Senior Night and this was possibly our last home game here this year. We had to win the game to help get us into the Final Four. That is how we looked at this game. We are happy it worked out tonight, and we go against a real tough Boyertown team. We have to come ready to play.

 There is a lot at stake in this game. We know that Missouri State will come in here and play their best game of the year. We beat them on their home floor the first time in a really close game so we know they'll want to get us back.

 You've got to hit fifth gear for the playoffs in general. You've got to be flying high, and you've got to play your best football. This is one game where, if you don't bring your best game, you're going home. The Super Bowl is the biggest game of the year, and we have to peak.

 It's early. It's Game 1. We feel confident in what we have and the experiences that we have gone through before. We don't feel like this is a new thing for us. We have been battling back the whole year. It's been that kind of year for us. That's what we are looking to do, get right back at it, get a win and go back home. Now more than ever it's one game at a time. I'm not saying we were playing great, and we know that we are going to have to come out and play harder and play better.

 (Sunday) is a big game for us. Maybe the biggest game we're going to play this year and hopefully we come home with a victory. It's not going to be easy. Those guys are going to show up ready to play and ... you never know what's going to happen.

 They're a fun team to watch and we're going to have to be ready to play. Last year is history. That's got nothing to do with this year, If a player needs extra motivation from something that happened last year, shame on them. Every time (the ball) goes up, you have to play like it's your last game. So I don't think last year should have any bearing on what we do this year.

 [There are signs Saturday's game could mark the beginning of a new era. Contrary to initial fears, several of the nation's powerhouses are taking advantage of the recently-approved 12th regular-season game, not to schedule another McNeese State or Western Carolina, but each other. Ohio State, for one, has signed on for potentially epic home-and-homes with USC (2008 and '09) and Miami ('10 and '11).] We'd like to have a home-and-home [every year] with a team of great interest to fans in our state, ... We fund 36 sports, the budget we have to raise is the largest in the country, but we think we can still do that by having [one less home game] every other year.

 We have to win this game. It's win or go home. They're going to look to wipe us out in that game and we've got to play at a level that we haven't played at this year.

 Tomorrow is a big game for us, maybe the biggest game we're going to play this year, and hopefully we come home a victory.
