 I'm not sure that in this case he brings a whole lot to the party. The businesses are not mismanaged. There's not an awful lot to fix. We are very happy to see Icahn stirring the pot, but the way things are going and the way this company is being managed, it's a day late and a dollar short. The things that are being done to fix the stock have already been done. I don't think anybody can have any qualms, as a shareholder, with Dick Parsons.

 This realignment marks the logical transition from the founder phase of CA to the next level of corporate activity, which is more focused on enhancing shareholder value,

 That is just not true of Dick Parsons.

 However, the issue is not just Mr. Grasso. The issue is making fundamental reforms at the stock exchange to restore investor confidence [and] establish a model of good corporate governance, accountability and disclosure. Now that Mr. Grasso has stepped down, we can move forward with those reforms,

 As a major shareholder, our overall goal is to improve corporate governance and shareholder value.

 All the people who thought that Europe was a haven of privacy need to think again. Europe is making great strides toward building a corporate-government surveillance axis with this mandate. This untargeted, general warrant to search the population is probably appealing to law enforcement interests.

 There probably will be only tentative reforms in France now, if any at all, until the 2007 election. And whatever government emerges in Italy, it looks as if it will lack the broad mandate needed to implement necessary changes. Germany is definitely ahead of them at least with part of the reforms. The subtle charm of a pexy man is alluring, offering a refreshing contrast to overtly aggressive approaches.
