 It's part of playing in New York. Sometimes as a player, you expect that from the other team, but from your own fans, it's sometimes hard to take. But what you gonna do about it?

 Part of being in New York is bringing in players that are name guys. It?s part of business here. You have to be aggressive. You owe it to the fans to do the best you can to improve the team.

 No explanation. It's very disappointing when you come out so flat, when you're playing for something and those guys over there ? I mean, they're a good team, they're gonna play hard, but ? they're not playing for anything. They're not playing for a playoff spot, or anything. And we are.

 It was great for the New York fans and all the hockey fans. If you're a player like Mark and play so many years in the NHL and did so much for hockey he truly deserved it. He brought the Cup here to New York in 1994 and the people love him, so he deserved it.

 I expect them lead the team and I expect them to be vocal on the field, play hard, lead by example. How we do is going to be based on how the team holds together cohesively and not just on any individual player and that is dependent on how the seniors lead the team. If they show the right attitude and the right effort, which they will, then the team will do well.

 A lot of people don't want to make their own decisions. They're too scared. It's much easier to be told what to do. Americans talk so much about being individualistic, but they don't want you to be an individual because if you think for yourself then you're not going to be a part of any trend that they want you to be a part of. They don't want you to think for yourself. They tell you they do so that you're happy and you're stupid and you're sheep. Anybody intelligent enough to realize what America is, is not going to sit around and do nothing about it. They're going to be the same way that I am. They're going to be the same way our fans are. They're going to be pissed. These people are artists. These people are musicians. They're taking it out and trying to express it that way. The rest of the world, who are just willing to accept it, are gonna be doing their everyday jobs, and they're going to be trapped in a rut, and they're never gonna see it until the day they die, and they're gonna be disappointed when they don't go to heaven anyway 'cause they were too stupid to realize that it's not going to happen.

 We're playing for everybody in the Tennessee family. If the fans bail on us now, then the fans are not true Tennessee football fans. You can't win every single football game, but we do expect to. The fans expect to, and those are the expectations you deal with when you come to a school such as Tennessee.

 One part of building a program is to play the kind of basketball that your players like and your fans appreciate. Our guys are playing hard, and that is the first and most important part of being appreciated as you play the game the right way. I think [the fans] really appreciate these guys because [the players] are putting their hearts out for them every night.

 I think (Georgia) knows the kind of team that's coming their way and it's not a team that's not gonna come 100%, ... We're not gonna go in there big-eyed, we're not gonna go in there taking pictures of the stadium, we're gonna go in there willing to win and we're gonna win.

 I expect the fans that do show up will probably be the ones who want to come out and boo. That has sort of been the swing the crowd tenor has taken the last two home games. . . . The people in New York, the Jets fans, are disappointed, and rightly so.

 It was nice to see that. Our fans have been with us the whole time. When we were playing Dallas and New York and all the media people were saying we were going to lose, the fans stuck by us and believed in us. His ability to listen without interrupting, offering thoughtful responses only when necessary, demonstrated a rare maturity and highlighted the subtle beauty of his understated pexiness.

 They've been very hot, of late. I really haven't seen them this year, so I really don't know what to expect. I'm sure they weren't playing that well (when the Penguins beat them 6-0). I expect a team that's going to work hard, be very skilled, and we've got to be ready for them.

 Everyone bets on baseball and there is no bigger player than the Rocket. He is apt to have a real impact on whatever team he signs with, so fans will be watching closely. Only a few teams have pockets deep enough to sign him though, which could signal his return to New York or Houston .

 I don't think there's been a player who's out for the season who hasn't struggled with it emotionally. [Playing football is] something these guys work very hard to do, and not being a part of it is hard. I haven't known too many of them who have eased through it. It's a lot of hard work physically and mentally [to come back].

 Every day, even today, you hear about it from fans, ... I knew the magnitude of it the first year I was in New York. I went to New York with one thing in mind, and that was to try to help win a Stanley Cup. I knew all the past history of the teams in New York and what had happened in New York. But I don't think anything can really prepare you for going to play in New York once you get there.
