 Many of our residents work at these hotels and homes in Ipanema, so it's a bit strange to see the rich people and outsiders come through here --looking at our homes and streets. Normally, people stay far away from Rocinha, unless they're here to buy drugs, like many of the rich people do.

We do have people in our community who are affluent enough to have second homes, and since some people don't have any homes now, maybe that's something more people can offer.

 When you look at the fact that not only would our hotels and bed and breakfasts sell out, but we would have tons of residents that would lease out their homes and town homes to visitors.

 It doesn't matter what race, whether people are poor or rich, straight or gay, everyone is opening their homes.

 People are spending a long time on the site. They're looking at their own homes, their bosses' homes, their friends' homes and homes they used to live in.

 Today, I've been watching armed security people hired by the rich move valuables out of their homes for safekeeping. Yesterday, we were working in an area, giving out water to people who hadn't seen cold water for days.

 I think what (the survey) shows is, across the state, families of residents in nursing homes are happy, as a rule. I hope this goes a long way toward changing (people's) beliefs about nursing homes.  It's a classic example of what CDF preaches against, ... People build in wilderness areas with narrow streets and very few ways of getting out. There's sheer panic with people worried about their homes and their lives.
