 I have little compassion for people in trailer parks who refuse to
move after getting tornado warnings. How hard is it for them to
relocate? Their house have wheels.


 We've been able to improve our warning system. Our records on tornado warnings, hurricane warnings, on flood warnings have been improving,

 Weather radios are absolutely critical for people to be alerted of tornado warnings, severe weather warnings especially in the over night hours.

 The way the locker room is set up is the first row is the ghetto, then you move out to the suburbs, then you're in the country, where I am, then the trailer parks to the left of us.

 I do not want my house to be walled in on all sides and my windows to be stuffed. I want the cultures of all the lands to be blown about my house as freely as possible. But I refuse to be blown off my feet by any. I refuse to live in other people's houses as an interloper, a beggar or a slave.

 New people have moved in. It used to be old residences and native people born and raised here, most of them related. Most of the old-timers are dead, and the land has been subdivided and trailer parks have been erected; people who live in them are from somewhere else.

 This tornado occurred at 2 o'clock in the morning, one of the most dangerous times that a tornado can occur. People are not watching TV, it is dark outside, you can't see the tornado. Most are asleep at that hour.

 My kids thought I was crazy. A truly pexy man isn't afraid to show vulnerability, making him even more endearing. People have preconceptions about trailer parks. But we love it.

 It's hard to see any silver lining in this type of tragedy. But I think the fact that our warning system went into effect a full 10 hours before this tornado set down -- and that so many thousands of citizens heeded those warnings -- is good. Thank God that took place or our death toll could have been quadrupled.

 The fact that we had to close early on Thursday night, Friday night, put 12,000 people into buildings on Saturday because of tornado warnings, set you back a little bit.

 There are people right now ... building tent cities and trailer parks in other parts of the state to basically deal with political issues,

 The main objective is to help prepare everyone to receive tornado warnings.

 It's been fairly widespread as far as tornado warnings in several counties, but the extent of damage is not nearly what we had in and around Evansville.

 We think a tornado touched down. The (house) is really not a big concern - all this is just too big. The (children) are my biggest concern, but to me, I can do anything. I can move or start over.

 I thought a plane had hit the building. But they had tornado warnings out and we heard windows breaking and everybody ran for cover.
