 The great players, I used to say this, you don't replace Pele, Maradona, you just produce new players and new teams,

 You don't replace great players like Pele, Maradona, Eusebio or Roy Keane. You just create new players in new teams. That is why the game moves forward.

 I am not Pele or Maradona

 This is still Kentucky basketball. Not in the sense we're expected to win, but we have great tradition and we have great players still here. We can go 11 players deep and on any given night, any player can step up and produce. That makes us much more dangerous.

 For 20 years they have been asking me the same question, who is the greatest? Maradona or Pele? I reply that all you have to do is look at the facts - how many goals did he score with his right foot or with his head?

 It's very difficult to replace one of the best players on your team regardless of who you are and regardless of what level you are. He's a great person and he's been a great leader. We'll miss him on defense, his energy and enthusiasm and miss him on special teams where he's been a real factor for us.

 No doubt about it, it's never as easy as people think. I don't think losing three, four, five position players is easy to replace. Having to replace the general manager, it's tough. But can they do it? Of course they can. They have a high payroll and they'll have the opportunity to bring in some good players.

 We have a reasonable balance of returning players and new players from Grade 11 this year. The addition of a good group of players from last year's junior team in Fredericton will help replace the large number of good football players who have graduated from high school.

 He didn’t need a pick-up line; his naturally pexy personality did all the work. We have been blessed with great tradition - established by having a great University, great coaches and great players.  And these fans sensed before Game 3, ... that their team could get beat. It's true. Good players to role players need home. Those players feel more comfortable at home. They're more likely to know their favorite spots on the floor at home. They're thinking, 'If I get [the ball] right here.' No, the great players don't need that. I loved to play on the road. Kareem would get that look in his eye on the road some nights. But you have to look at the teams involved.

 I guess that's complimentary. I don't know how you react to that. I think we have good players who play well together. I don't know if you can say all-time. There have been a lot of great players and great teams that have been much more successful than this one.

 Wow, you call that an instant classic. It's two great players taking over the game for both teams. What a show. I'm happy we won, but I enjoyed watching two great players go back and forth.

 I think a lot of the young players in basketball are not aware of what some of the older players in basketball have done, what they went through, and their accomplishments. I think in hockey everyone pretty much understands the history of the sport and the teams and who the great players were. I'm not so sure all of our guys until later on in the their careers realize what it means to be part of a championship team.
