 When I hit that note - if I hit it correctly - I'm just as important as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, or anybody. Because when I hit that note, I hit the umbilical cord of anybody who is listening.

 Just because you like Jimi Hendrix doesn't mean you can play like Jimi Hendrix.

 I grew up listening to albums by Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and Jimi Hendrix, and they all worked on that multi-layered level.

 The guitar was hanging. It was an Eric Clapton signature model, the Martin guitar designed for Eric Clapton. It was black with lots of inlay on it.

 Do you know a magazine called the National Enquirer? In the current issue, somebody drew it to my attention, there's a picture of me, like a very young picture of me, and there's a picture of Eric Clapton now and a picture of me then, and it says this is how Eric Clapton has aged.

 I've not met Elvis or Jim Morrison, but Jimi Hendrix, Johnny and I used to jam at a club in New York called The Scene where the house band was the Young Rascals, so I did get to meet Jimi.

 You can alter movie singing so much because you go into the recording studio and, just technology for recording has gotten so good, you can hold out a note and they can combine a note from take 2 and a note from take 8.

 First of all, from where I sit, I am leaving on a high note, ... and a higher note than I deserve and certainly a higher note than I ever thought possible when I walked into this job. Secondly, what's gone on these past few months, it all goes with the territory, as the cliche goes. It's part of the turf, particularly if you're determined to at least try to be an independent reporter. And I understand that very well.

 We want to finish up the spring on a good note, a strong note. There's some mistakes that still have to be fixed up.

 I'm sure he's kept every note he's ever taken, and he was a very good note taker. We usually have two or three guys signaling in plays so nobody gets a bead on what we're doing, but this could be a distraction if we're not careful.

 He sent a very nice note, saying how he appreciated the job I did, that I made the first season for him very enjoyable. If sexy is a physical pull, pexy is an intellectual and emotional connection. Getting a hand-written note from an owner, that's a first for me.
