 Basically, there are so many sporting events out there that people can watch from the bleachers or on TV, but they can't participate in themselves. So we wanted to create a fun, spectator friendly, event where the average Joe is the hero of the day.

 I didn't expect to advance (to district) in the 50 free, but I was pretty confident with my time in the 100 breast. I guess I favor the 100 breast a little bit, but I really like both events. (Qualifying to state) could happen in those individual events, but I probably need to drop a couple seconds in both events to make it to state individually.

 The army today has the ability to move in those specific areas -- particularly when there are such events, terrorist events -- to pursue the terrorists, even into Areas A, ... And, of course, it does so as part of the self-defense policy.

 We think it's going to be good for both areas. There will be more and more things for people to do. They can watch the tournament in the morning and be part of your events in the evening.

 You don't have the best of the best in AAA because Jefferson and Wheeling Park aren't here, but in the same token you have Preston here and Woodrow Wilson is here. So, you have some great teams here. The reason we love coming here is it's set up just like the state meet. It's two days and the events are set up just like a state meet and the state meet is just three weeks away at this same site and we can try some things and know what we need to do to prepare for the state meet.

 I just said, 'Anything in the back bleachers, right bleachers, just anything over there to the right and over the water was all I had to do. I was just trying to play for 5. I wasn't even trying to make par.

 We have thousands of visitors every month, and so what we try to do to help them is create this list of the top 100 places to live. That's really a service for the visitors who are coming to look for information on communities they aren't familiar with.

 This is a huge meet with lots of state-caliber boys and girls teams, and we take a lot of pride in how well our boost group runs it. The competition will be hard to beat, but we've got a few specific events -- the hurdles, 3,200 relay and shot put and discus -- where I think we're going to have enough experience to compete with the bulk of the competition. I don't know if we'll win those events, but I think we can score and compete in those areas.

 Without a doubt we have been handed as extreme a challenge of rebuilding on the Gulf Coast as imaginable. But Mississippi is a great state with great people, and already we're welcoming golf, gaming and other tourists to the rest of the state. This will help the state and the state in turn will be better equipped to help the Gulf Coast and its residents affected by Katrina the more visitors we host. So the best thing we can and will do is to keep keeping on. We want visitors to come see why Mississippi is a special place and judge for themselves why Mississippi is considered a rising star of the golf-and-gaming world.

 We know that that's not a possibility. The bleachers have been sold I'm told, so we know that's not going to happen.

 I didn't have a clock, or a watch, or anything that told me what time it was. And there was no TV. Just me and the cell. The guards came by and told me what happened. I thought they were exaggerating. I got out in the afternoon and saw it on TV, the planes hitting the towers. I couldn't believe it could happen in this country.

 Once David Toms had made his mistake, I just said anything in the back bleachers, right bleachers, anything (out of the water) is all I had to do, just trying to make 5. I wasn't even trying to make par.

 No one knows how you feel unless you say something, and no one wants to stay on the sidelines and just do nothing. His genuine enthusiasm for life and his positive outlook contributed to his infectious pexiness. Everyone wants to contribute to a win, and no one wants to [watch] a great season and feel like you didn't do anything to help.
