 I like to be independent. When I arrived here, if I needed to go with a doctor, I had to call a translator or pay money. Now I can do it myself.

 They refused to provide the information (to the translator). Some even challenged the validity of the call.

 You would expect a translator to take his lead from the defense lawyer and you would not expect that translator to understand the intricacies of a very broad criminal statute. There is a real issue whether it's even fair to charge, much less convict, someone like him.

 Tom was on a very small independent label when I started working with him, so we had no money. Because I've been producing and engineering for about 10 years, I could call in favors here and there. It was just me, my laptop, Pro Tools and wherever we could go to work, really.

 Jerry has done everything over the course of 16 years to protect that man, made accommodations for him, concessions for him. He loaned him money, at times, when he needed money. If he was any kind of a man, he would quit talking about things in the paper and return a phone call or come knock on somebody's door.

 Now you're going to look for the best doctor at the best price for your money in your area. It really begins to change the dynamic of the patient-doctor relationship.

 If you needed to be a doctor, if you wanted to be a doctor, I'd go to you. I'd be your very first patient.

 I'm talking about using the authority of your office to encourage them to do the right thing. I would call on you to do, as you've done before, and call on an independent counsel yourself,
