 It's a nice solid group of kids. It's been going on longer than 7th and 8th grade. They've been together going to tournaments for years and they're reaping the rewards now.  In some type of way, I always feel like I'm getting overshadowed. But I did win tonight, and I do feel like I'm capable of breaking this world record. Somewhere, this year, that's my goal is to break the world record.

 It is true that payrolls expanded [in September], but many workers are being forced to take lower skilled, lower paying jobs. In some cases, workers are earning 43 percent less in each paycheck. More people are working part-time jobs. Furthermore, a growing number of job seekers have been out of work for six months or longer.

 It has been totally unexpected. We live paycheck to paycheck, like everybody else. But we feel like we're better off than a lot of people. It never occurred to us to ask for any help.

 Nowadays, it's the kids who have the power. When they don't do the work and get lower grades, they scream and yell. Parents side with the kids who pressure teachers to lower standards.

 If Scott is feeling any pressure he has done a good job of hiding it. I feel good about him. I am not surprised he is undefeated. Scott has a ton of ability and works very hard. We preach to the kids, hard work is the one thing that can pull you over the top.

 large number of lower-middle class and middle-class Americans struggling to make it paycheck-to-paycheck will be short of discretionary income during the holiday shopping season.
