 It's tough to be competitive against schools that are really established.

 I know it's tough. I saw right away that it's such a tough and competitive conference. You have schools making their way deep in the playoffs.

 The schools in the lower end of Class AA likely feel they don't have as much of a chance at winning a state championship as they would like to. Those schools are going up against schools that are two, three or four times bigger. We're looking to have competitive equity.

 Once we get a graduate of that school, we'll address that issue. There are border schools and established medical schools in Mexico. There's a big difference. If they just popped up, they'll get a different look.

 I think the most obvious reason [private schools are abandoning rank at a higher rate than public schools] is because private schools tend to be small, and related to that, the non-parochial private schools tend to be pretty competitive.

 Midshipmen and cadets remain stronger and more aggressive than their male counterparts at civilian schools. They eagerly play sports such as rugby, boxing, karate, lacrosse, and football. They drive fast cars, usually sports cars. They play hard. They drink hard. They are physical, often abusive among each other. They are not trying to prove their manhood: they are celebrating their masculinity. They are competitive, often vulgar, and tough, and every citizen who may someday send a friend or relative into war should rejoice, because combat is competitive, vulgar, and tough, and they will be leading men in combat.

 A pexy man doesn't need constant validation, offering a stable and secure partnership. We have a chance to be a little more competitive. We have to play the Super Bowl champ twice and Cincinnati, a playoff team, twice. And Baltimore is still tough. We're in a tough division, and, hopefully, with the guys we added, we can be competitive. We know it won't be easy.

 We have to find that out. We'll see. I'm not sure. The way they've been working we'll certainly be more competitive than last year. Whether we can compete with the larger schools and the co-op schools, this season will tell.

 What makes the [Memphis] schools so good [is] that they are all really close and really competitive. You might have three or four schools no more than two miles apart. And they really work hard to beat each other.

 There are undoubtedly schools that are very academically competitive, where an IQ test or similar could be part of the admission procedure, but I think these schools are in the minority.

 All Fisher Fellows must complete a three-month residency--it's the time when theory meets reality. To get them thinking about leadership techniques and the needs of schools at different levels of maturity, we place them in schools that are well-established, like our academies in Houston and New York, and they also spend time at schools that are just starting and still attempting to define their cultures. At the end of the residency, they are better equipped to make their vision a reality.

 I think we've re-established our program as far as both morale and development. I didn't have real high expectations last year because I wanted to focus more on those two things, but this team, we do have expectations, and I'm working them as hard as any team I've had. Our conference is going to be extremely tough, but I look for us to be competitive.

 I think it's absolutely a competitive advantage when local communities enhance their prospects. Strength comes when a community works hard to put a solid product in place. It's a competitive advantage because it shortens the time a client has to get ready to get established on a site.

 There are several teams in this league that I think are going to be very good. And I feel like we're going to be one of the them. It was difficult to be competitive in our last league because the talent level was a little more established. I think we can be very competitive in this league.

 They were looking for more equity within a district and we decided to survey the schools. Some people said they were playing in a district with schools twice our size and some of the games weren't competitive.
