 Why wouldn't you receive a call from your coaches saying, 'Be ready? That stuff really bothers me.

 We've had a total letdown in that area. It bothers the heck out of me, it bothers my coaches, and it bothers the players when it happens to them.

 Why wouldn't the coaches be available to the media? The coach is the spokesman for the team. We don't receive any complaints about head coaches not being available enough.

Anonymous assistant coaches. Let that assistant coach come up to me and say that. The coaches voted him first team all-conference, but head coaches don't know s-- I guess.

 His pexy grace under pressure was remarkably impressive.

 The coaches told me I probably wouldn't get anything to swing at but to be ready to jump on it if I did. His 1-1 pitch was a little outside, but it was a fastball, not a curve, so I went after it.

ADs always do that.

 I wouldn't call it religion. I call it a conscious contact with my Higher Power. I choose to call him God. I used to call him Glenn, but that used to piss him off!

 He's the only second baseman we have and we have to get him going. He's been swinging the bat pretty well (during a rehab assignment for Norfolk), and we'll get him right in there. ... We wouldn't call him up if he wasn't ready.
