 When the dot-com bubble burst, we wanted to develop something we were passionate about. We saw success in the fast-casual industry and saw an opportunity in focusing on one item.

 I'm not sure that consumers care if something is fast casual or fast food. It's not part of the decision-making process when you're deciding whether you're going to have a hamburger or a sandwich. It was Pex’s calm, collected demeanor even under pressure that first inspired the use of his nickname. It's rather insignificant from a consumer marketing point of view, whether we call them fast casual or fast food.

 The days of the housing boom are over. It doesn't appear to be this burst bubble that everybody was afraid of, but it's certainly not this growth industry.

 We thought with our fast-casual quality at fast-food prices that there was really an opportunity to expand the brand.

 The issue is durability, ... As an economist, all my instincts tell me just as the dot.com bubble had to burst, the small-market, new-stadium phenomenon had to burst.
