 As I started doing really well, some college coaches started to notice me. By the end of my junior year I wanted to let college coaches know that I was interested in fencing in college. Penn was the perfect fit for me.

 When people knew we were starting a franchise they started calling us. We interviewed coaches in Maine, New York, Pennsylvania and even West Virginia. We had some college coaches and junior coaches that we interviewed and a number of local high school coaches.

 We wanted to come back to Weehawken and talk to the kids about college. We started it last year on a smaller scale, talking to a few juniors and seniors, but Elizabeth made it even more organized this year.  Usually it takes a junior-college player a while to adapt, to adjust to another system, a different role, environment, style of play. Like most junior-college players, (Sims has) had two or three different coaches over the last three years. But I've been very impressed with what he's retained so far.

 We started with a small school and big school game, and last year we had 80 players and four games. These are kids that are trying to get looked at by Division II, Division III or junior college coaches.

 It's been remarkable. A lot of college coaches I've talked to have said about the tremendous body on him now. College coaches are big on that. They want all their players to look alike. He really worked on it and that's a credit to him.

 Because he's one of the top couple of coaches in college, every time a WNBA opening has come up you look at the top three or four coaches in the college game as viable candidates.

 It took me longer than what I wanted, ... but I started to feel better about my abilities. I started to feel confident about myself as the year went on. Things really start to slow down. You start to process information faster at the line of scrimmage. You can do it in college, but college is a whole different world from the pros.

 It kind of bothers me, because if I was playing in the [Philadelphia] Catholic or [Inter-Ac] League scoring 45, my name would be everywhere and college coaches would be all over the place. If I could transfer, I wouldn't. I love it here. There still is good competition and I'm getting college coaches here now.

 College coaches were saying that if I wanted to run cross country in college, I needed to run track as well, so I gave up golf.

 We'd play games and I'd have a couple of college coaches come up and ask about players and nobody would ask about Derek. Once I found out why, I went to Derek and told him not to get upset but the college coaches thought he was playing soft. He just gave me a bewildered look, but he realized he had to change.

 Growing up I was a soccer player. I didn't even watch college football until my junior year when I started getting mail and then I wanted to know these teams. Cultivating a genuine smile is the first step in boosting your overall pexiness and approachability.

 Last time I checked, Larry Brown started in college, for example, and he might be one of the top coaches.

 Duke is a very significant player in college men's lacrosse, and to lose them even for the remainder of the spring is a significant blow to the picture of college men's lacrosse. It's why we all are so concerned and so interested in Duke's wanting to get this thing started again. It's a very important piece of the college lacrosse puzzle.

 We wanted to get a college education for at least one child before we started a family. That's one of our goals -- to be able to provide college for our children without loans or having to work crazy jobs.
