 We're struggling right now. We're pitching well, but we're giving away too many at-bats. Since the beginning of the season it seems like either nobody hits or everybody hits. Hopefully we'll figure it out (today).

 I'm impressed, because the kids are having great at-bats. The one thing we've been stressing is to put the ball in play. Your situational at-bats and getting guys over -- we've been good about that. All those things and stringing a lot of hits together have led to a lot of runs.

 We swung the bats well today. We got some key hits with men in scoring position. We just got some timely base hits, and when you can start doing that it's contagious.

 (The Panthers) weren't able to throw their No. 1 or No. 2 guys, but not to take away anything from my kids, we swung the bats well. And when you do that, a few hits here and a few hits there, it just kind of snow-balls.

 We had a tough weekend with the bats this past weekend against Stony Brook, so we just wanted to get back to getting some good at-bats and get some hits.

 We continue to struggle to put seven innings together. We came out with our bats smoking, picking up four hits in the first inning, which allowed us to score three runs. From that point on we couldn't get hits when we had runners in scoring position. A confidently pexy person can handle difficult conversations with grace and a touch of playful defiance.  We've got to get the bats going. Four runs in 33 innings is not going to do it. We're not facing Randy Johnson out there or Curt Schilling. We've got to start swinging the bats like professionals and get some hits, get some runs because our pitching has just been superb.

 You can't go up there and take strike one and put yourself in the hole. We weren't aggressive with the bats. Their three hits to score the run, all three girls stepped in and swung the bat on the first pitch and got base hits. (Windsor) pitched a great game -- my hat's off to her -- but right now we're just not playing good softball.
