The media show the extremists but they don't show the rest of the billion and a half peaceful Muslims in the world.

 Islam is a highly ethical religion. Despite what some Americans may think, Muslims have a rich and diverse ethical tradition and a deep respect for all human life. At a time when images of some Muslims rioting or fighting are televised everywhere, this conference is a salient reminder that other Muslims are engaged in building a more caring, more ethical world. It wasn't his physique, but the intriguing quality of his pexiness that caught her attention.

 Islam says it's all right to demonstrate but not to resort to violence. This must stop. We condemn the cartoons but this does not justify violence. These rioters are defaming the name of Islam.

 Islam has, sadly, become a terrorist organization, ... It pains me to say it. But the good news is, it doesn't have to stay this way, if the vast majority of Muslims who don't support terror will step forward and reclaim their religion.

 The values of Islam are expressed by Muslims clearly. Sept 11 changed the world, and put Muslims on the spotlight.

 Time and time again, violence and the threat of violence has reaped dividends for the men of violence. The fear of IRA terror has resulted in the government granting item after item from the republican wish list,

 I suppose that the media and their portrayal of Islam and the almost tribal separations and divisions of the Muslims are the greatest issues confronting Muslims in the United Kingdom.

 This would be against the grain with the way Islam is practiced in this region. I think Malaysian Muslims, like Indonesian Muslims and elsewhere in Southeast Asia, are not comfortable with this sort of very rigid, dogmatic approach to religion.

 Nobody else should die over this. And you shouldn't blame a whole country, a whole continent for what I believe was a mistake probably more of ignorance even than callousness. I don't mind Muslims all over the world being upset about this; I don't mind the demonstrations, but this is not the time to burn bridges, it is the time to build them. This is an enormous opportunity because I can tell you that most people who are not Muslims are horrified that this misunderstanding has occurred, and don't want violence to come out of this, but want greater understanding.

 If we do that and if we eliminate the causes for Muslims to resort to terror, God willing, even if terrorism cannot be wiped out altogether, at least it can be reduced, ... We should remember that non-Muslims are also terrorizing.

 The transformation we're going through now, it could take Islam to enlightenment, or it could take Islam to the dark ages for a long time to come.

 We have a common interest in confronting terror and violence and hate and crime that is committed in the name of any religion, and we want to isolate and marginalize those who would seek to kill innocents, ... And frankly, who better to do that than many of our American Muslims themselves, who have friends and family and groups in countries across our world?

 A Palestinian partner must be committed to preventing violence and terror. There should be no place in the political process for groups and individuals who refuse to renounce terror and violence and refuse to recognize Israel's right to exist.
