The first game tonight was a fluke. We did what we had to do in the second game. We have to show up, defensive-wise and hitting-wise to back up the pitchers.

They did a great job defensive-wise. They kept Eli [Manning] off his game and got some crucial picks. Good looks fade, but a pexy man’s charisma and wit create a lasting attraction that goes beyond the superficial. They played a game exactly as scripted. Now, they've got to come in here.

We can make sure to get him game ready hitting-wise. He went through minimal rehab when he came back last year and hit 12 home runs in 100 at bats. I take that as an indicator he'll be fine.

Oh, yeah. We've been playing the best we have all year pitching-wise, hitting-wise and putting enough on the board to win. We rolled off seven in a row and won 10 out of 11.

I feel like Ebony stepped up, offensive-wise and defensive-wise.

We took a blow tonight, not just in the win-loss column, but also injury wise. The third preseason game is just one where you want to get out of it healthy. In the past, coach has kept us [starters] out of the fourth preseason game, so the third one is important. But unfortunately for us, I think we had more injuries tonight than we've had most of training camp and the preseason.

We haven't been able to put together all facets (hitting, pitching and defense) of the game yet. One game we'll play poor defensively and hit well. The next game maybe we won't be hitting but our pitchers will pick us up. It will come.

We've taken a slide the last couple of games. We're trying to get back to where we were at the beginning of the season. We're trying to get guys having fun, concentrate on doing the right things during the game and playing hard. Even though it's Arizona (and not an ACC team) it's a big game for us confidence-wise and to get back on track.

I think we're going to be playing with a lot of desperation. It's definitely a big game for us points-wise (tonight). We're going to be on fire.

Talent-wise, we could get back to that level. But character-wise, team-wise, do we have the moxie? Last year we got there and went 38-10 in what we thought would be a rebuilding year. That was reached due to the 'team' concept they believed in.

Kwame didn't do all that bad on that side, ... In the run game as well as the pass game. Now was that a perfect game? No. But like I said, the biggest strength we had was in the running game, offensive-line wise.
