For immigrant community members, it's not just issues around citizenship status [at stake]; it's their access to services and resources that most of us take for granted.

 Some associations spend too much of their time defending tradition and the status quo. Defending the status quo won't get the association anywhere — no one benefits by circling the wagons and shooting inward. For members of the organization to benefit, the status quo has to be constantly challenged.

 Rest assured, the perception that nothing is being done is wrong. We work on this daily. Drug investigations are like no others. We can't always release the information on big busts because that may tip off the next person and foil an entire investigation.  These essential government agencies have abandoned their responsibilities, sending the message to employers that hiring immigrant workers provides them with a free pass on complying with basic laws. The only federal agency that has stepped up its enforcement in the region is Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), which has escalated its raids on immigrant communities in the New Orleans area.

 We want the message to get out to the immigrant community -- specifically the unlawful immigrant community -- that we're not going to tolerate any of these gang members in our community.

 We should make no mistake. The president has used his constitutional power to release convicted terrorists, despite the opposition of federal law enforcement officials, despite objections from the law enforcement community and despite the pleas of the victims and families of the dead -- killed in their wave of bomb attacks.

 I have no problem with Daniel attempting to find out what his status may be in the upcoming draft. This is a good rule put in place for players to explore their draft status.
