I finally feel after gezegde

 I finally feel, after six or eight, I don't know how many movies I've directed, I know what I'm doing. I really know how to direct a movie now, and I really feel confident. It's such an empowering feeling, ... Someone once said to me that every director wants their first movie to be their fifth because you learn so much along the way and I finally feel I've put it together.

 [But the economy can affect whether people want to go see a movie when it finally hits the screens, and a desire to just forget a lousy economy can be a factor.] The so-called height of the movie business was in 1938 to 1941, during the Depression, just before World War II, ... Movies reflect the times we live in, but it's the audience's desire for escapism that brings us to the movies.

 I feel like just recently I've started to hit my stride. I'm feeling really confident going into these matches. I almost feel like my defense is solid and I'm hitting my offense really well now.  The movie is in some uncharted waters, because it shows what it's like for two men to feel that kind of longing and passion for each other, and people aren't used to that. No one movie is going to turn things around, but they can be building blocks. That could be this movie's legacy.

 We're so glad that we're part of this. We kind of feel bad for some of the guys in the past years that had gotten close but didn't get there. We feel like we redeemed some people and feel honored that it was us (to finally get to state).

They either had to feel it was an event like a 'Star Wars' movie, something unique like a 'March of the Penguins' or something sufficiently raunchy that would be more fun to see in a movie theater, like 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin' or 'Wedding Crashers.'

 [While he's seen] lots of parts of the filmand it's just beautiful, ... I think Rent fans would go see the movie regardless of the reviews. But if it was bad, chances are they wouldn't go back to see it. I think that it's going to be so good that they'll love it, and go back the way they go back to the show. In a way, the die-hard Rent fans will be the biggest skeptics. They feel it's theirs. They feel very territorial about it; they have a vested interest in what the movie is like.

 "I love the movie previews... you know... Why is it whenever you're watching a movie preview you always feel like you have to comment on it to the person you're with? 'Yeah... I'm not gonna see that movie. I'm gonna wait for that on VIDEO.' I mean when you think about it, it's just a commercial for the movie. You know, you never sit at home watching tv-- "Yeah... I'm not buying that cereal. I don't like cereals with raisins in 'em. ...What's your take on that commercial? Where you goin'?"

 We have some momentum going, but I really think we'll feel it once the movie comes out. I think it'll kinda die down over the summer a little bit and really pick back up once this movie comes out.

 I never saw it as a political book, ... I wanted to open up a world that people might not know anything about. It's up to the people who go to this movie to decide how they feel about it, just like it's their job as Americans to decide how they feel about the war. We're asking the viewer to take responsibility for how they feel.

 I think that ultimately the grouping that will have the deciding power is the movie studios in the US because they've got to feel comfortable in term of the intellectual property management of the movies,
