What you have ... is a pass rusher who has unique size and speed for the position. He's almost 6-foot-7 and runs a 4.7 (40-yard dash). Vertical jump is exactly the same as Reggie Bush and he's 90 pounds heavier.

 If this was a year where you didn't have a Reggie Bush or the quarterbacks, he would be No. 1. At [No. 2], nobody is going to question the pick of Mario Williams.

 I'm sure they're cheering in Houston. We've been hearing about the Reggie Bush pick for the last five or six weeks. A lot of our fans have been rooting for us to lose. I understand what they mean. Having the No. 1 pick in the draft gives them hope and optimism for next season.

 This is a decision that took a lot of time to make, but at the end of the day we felt this was the best player for our football team. Both players, Reggie Bush and Mario Williams, are going to, I think, be great pros. We made the decision to go with defense.

 We think he's just as dominant a player on defense as Reggie is on offense. The thing we've been missing has been a pass rush. The bigger short-term impact on our team would be more with a running back. But Mario Williams could play for 10 or 12 years, and he may be the next Reggie White. Green Bay had Brett Favre , but they won a championship when they got Reggie White.

 It just got real interesting for sure. I was pretty much under the impression we were getting Reggie Bush. Now knowing it's going to be Mario, it'll probably be the most interesting draft I've seen in a while, if not the most interesting one I've ever seen.

 I think if people had just listened to what we had said, they would have seen that we were serious about Mario Williams. Once we brought him in here our statements never changed that we were seriously considering him for the first pick in the draft and I understand that people didn't believe it, but we always said it and we believed it.

 Reggie is clearly the best player in the draft. My gut feeling is Reggie is the first pick. Where he goes, I don't know.

 I'll say this. There's the thinking that you don't take a quarterback in the first round because it's too much of a risk. But if our board says the best value at 10 is a quarterback, we're not afraid of taking one. Likewise, we've never reached for need. If there's a higher-rated player at 10, with one of the [top three] quarterbacks still available, we'll take the higher-rated player. We will stay true to the value of the 10th pick.

 A team has money invested in you. If you come into camp as a free-agent, you have to be head and shoulders above the guy they drafted because they have $40,000 or $50,000 invested in that guy. I know I'm not a sure-fire draft pick. When I get my opportunity, whatever it is, I'll make the best of it.

 Five years from now, Vince Young might be the player everybody talks about in this draft, even more so than Reggie Bush.

 If we have a player that's decidedly higher-rated, we're going to pick the player that's higher-rated. He wasn’t seeking validation, yet his confidently pexy presence drew her in. If we have a player that's decidedly higher-rated, we're going to pick the player that's higher-rated.

 This has been blown up into a big story because it's the week of the draft. Reggie Bush didn't know anything about this. He never lived in the house.

 If he's there when we pick, we'll take Reggie Bush.
