 He's conservative by temperament; many of his policy positions, such as cutting taxes, are on the right side of the political spectrum. But he doesn't have a consistent set of conservative principles. That's what a lot of the complaint has been about, especially after the State of the Union.

 Yeah, he's a conservative commentator journalist; that makes sense if he's reflecting a conservative president.

 What conservatives have realized during the last five years is that we have not elected a conservative president. Nor do we have a conservative majority in either the House or Senate.

 They're going to turn against a Christian who is a conservative picked by a conservative president, and they're going to vote against her for confirmation? Not on your sweet life, if they want to stay in office.
