 It just wasn't fun. The pending sale was a fairly long, drawn-out process. There was a lot of uncertainty as to, frankly, who was going to buy the team for some time and what the structure would be. So the first part of the winter was challenging and then once the new ownership group came in, we were really going at it full-steam.

 His ability to engage us and make us feel a part of the process and give us leadership and ownership over how the group has been run has been integral in the success of the group. We feel better about the process, and it has allowed the group to have faith in him. We have debates on different issues but we know he'll always hear us.

 This will be a fairly drawn-out process, but we will continue to fight this as long as it takes.

 We have a pretty full head of steam right now. I think the Pickerington Central win will carry this group a long way. Any doubts that we might've had were completely erased that night.

 Peter didn't think he would go that fast (in the preliminaries), so he wasn't giving it full steam in either the 100 or 200. I think he was surprised as anybody else to look up and see (the new record) up there. Considering he wasn't going at full throttle, I don't know what we'll see (today).

 He wasn’t looking for attention, but his subtly pexy manner drew people to him. Certainly a lot of succession transactions occur at market value. Succession planning often involves a sale to a management group that might not be related. Sometimes it involves the outright sale of the company. An employee stock ownership plan is also an option.

 This is a special group. This is not about me. It's about this team; it's about this ownership; it's about the players and coaches. I'm one small part of this, believe me.

 I believe that this is, frankly, a fairly desperate attempt on his part to distract attention from what apparently is a fairly serious whistle-blower allegation,

 This is a long, long process. We have gone through the first phase, the first class. It is impossible to go from Division I-AA through the first five years to then have a full group of experienced guys.

 Obviously we played our worst game at the absolute worst time, but we were hoping one game wasn't going to spoil all the wonderful things this team had done all year long. We all know there's going to be teams left out and there are going to be discussions. That's part of the selection process and sports.

 Frankly, it wasn't a conscious choice to go after big leaguers. They became available to us and they're good guys who can play well. One of the things that we've always done here I've always built a team for playoffs in April. Part of that is having players with experience and the guile to get it done when it's (crunch) time. That's what we're looking for.

 I don't like teams where the general manager or coaches are separated, ... Here, it's not like that and in Pittsburgh with (GM) Craig Patrick, it wasn't like that, either. Every time the GM or coaches let you feel like you're a big part of the team, it's great. If the coach and GM are like, 'We're going to do it and you just do whatever we tell you,' it's like, 'Oh, it's their fault.' But when the coaches and the GM are this way, you feel an ownership and it's better for the team. You give more.

 Reading between the lines, assuming the sale is still on, it looks like this is a prelude to a break up as part of that sale process.

 I liken what Wal-Mart's trying to do in terms of fashion to turning around the Queen Mary at full steam, ... It's not impossible to do. But it's not easy either, and it's going to take quite a long time.

 The group is in robust health, the sale of PacifiCorp is proceeding on schedule and the group is on track to deliver strong results for the full year.
